I've been thinking about the Toure saga/mess/situation...

How about if we use him as an impact sub? Instead of him getting knackered by half time, we start with (say) Lampard, then put Yaya on for the last 30 when maybe, just maybe he can manage to put in a 30 minute performance and when opposition legs might be tiring?

Obviously, not been impressed with him of late, but I'm wondering if there's anything we can do to still get some value from him?

We've been predictable for a good while now, so why not try some variation? It's worth a go I'd say.

Dont want to p on yur parade but Yaya couldn't be arsed playing one of the best league clubs in the world.

Do you really think he will accept no longer being the main man and only being offered token minutes as an impact sub? I for one think not, his ego would not allow that.

I hope that as a result of enforced changes we freshen the team (could be up to 6 changes) so no claims of tiredness, maybe as it's Pellegrini's favaourite formation

Hart

Zabaleta Kompany Mangala Clichy

Navas Fernando Fernandinho Silva

Kun

Bony

That should be enough for WBA, though would be happy to see Lampard in midfield with a 4-5-1.

I like this team. Not sure Fernando can be as poor as we all think. Maybe just needs more time.

Navas is a waste of space against a parked bus. Id play Jovetic or Nasri even after his shitty fit against Barca. Zabba combines better with Nasri.

Nah I think he really is pretty poor and I don't think Yaya will be benched tbh. Wouldn't mind Lamps in this after the 2nd half, he's here and had a good start not sure why he's used so rarely now. Agree with that formation if we're focused on a 4-4-2.

Edit: just read Yaya is injured. Maybe he could use that time off. Nando it is..

I hope Mangala starts and that we keep playing him till the end of the season, a settled back four would help too. No need to rotate full backs, especially when Kolarov and Sagna have proved no better than either Zab or Clichy.

I'm not sure who to pair with Fernandinho, Fernando has been incapable at everything and Lampard hasn't played a lot. Nasri needs dropping so Navas can come in, Silva on the left as I assume we will play with two upfront.

Bony and Aguero upfront for me. I'm not sure where Jovetic fits into our team when we play 442, he's much better suited to be playing behind the striker and when we do play that way then Silva is obviously in that position.

To be honest 4-4-2 will probably be ok without Yaya and Nasri. I think bony should start though with aguero just behind:

Hart
Zabba, Kompany, Mangala, Clichy
Fernando, Fernandinho
Aguero, Silva, Navas
Bony

11 players putting in 100% - that's what we need

Why do people keep picking Navas? Whenever we play against a crowded defence he is useless. Has no space to run in to, never beats a man with a cross and always comes back inside which has the added effect of killing any runs Zabba makes.

Spurs away and the Rags away are games he should play not a Pulis team at home.

So YaYa has an achilles injury niggle thing.
That means he won't be playing... Sadly that means Fernando will play so we're still playing with 10. He wouldn't get anywhere near my team as we need a player with strength and pace - I'd play Kompany in a DM role to drive us forward
We need Silva in the centre as the 2nd striker to unpick the lock.
So for me the team would be

--------------- Hart
Zab Demichelis Mangala Clichy
---- Kompany Fernandinho
Navas ----- Silva ------- Milner
------------ Aguero

Possibly start with Bony up front and bring Aguero on as the WBA defense begins to tire.
