and 'getting our heads straight' is a big factor.

Without that, we're anybody's for the taking, but if we can sort our heads out, we've little to fear from West Brom.
Our biggest issue will be nerves if we don't score early.

But still, I've been told I'm a pessimist of late, so I'm going for some optimism!
(I'll take a mammoth 1-0 now)

spoken like a true pessimist :-)

As a City fan for more than most on this forum I think now is the time to call upon the 'City Factor'.

We have always had it as a team and probably always will have it. This time let it work in our favour, just when everyone writes us off we come back with a performance that contradicts the trend.
I have to admit I remember it best when it worked the other way where we were doing well then unaccountably had a bad game but we are now on a consistent downward spiral that cries out for our historical inconsistency to sort out.

As my dad said to me many years ago 'Anyone can be a United fan, it is character building to be a City fan'.

For me personally, i'd play:

Hart
Zaba Kompany MDM Clichy

Navas Fernandinho Lampard Silva

Aguero Bony

Yaya has been nowhere near good enough lately, same as most of them but something different in midfield against a team who will play with 10 behind the ball may work. At least with Lampard, he's gonna put a shift in. IMO, he'd be more effective going forward than Yaya in this sort of game. Very few side to side passes, quick out of his feet and into Silva. It might just work although can't see MP dropping Toure. Bony needs a goal to get a boost and so does Aguero atm. Thought Navas did well when he came on against Barca albeit his final ball was dreadful. Against teams like WBA, we need to start exploiting the wide areas and with Bony a bigger threat than Dzeko in the box, we could be a lot more threatening.

Yaya out with Achilles problem according to MPs press conference. Milner & Kolarov doubtful

Yaya out injured with an achilles problem.

Kolorov and Milner doubtful although Milner did train.

Cue the no Yaya no City posts in the match day thread if we struggle.

Kolarov over Clichy for his attacking intent.

Nasri/Milner over Navas becasue Navas is shite against a parked bus. Nasri was a twat on Wed but this type of game suits intricate passing to penetrate the two banks of 4.

Dont care who plays CB. Would probably include Managala cos WBA are a threat on set pieces.

Zabba right back. He is much more effective without Navas.

yaya and Fernandinho in the middle. Yaya can shoot from distance and its a choice we need against Pulis' teams where the area is too congested.

Play Jovetic behind Aguero or off to the left. He is unpredictable and isnt afraid to shoot.

Silva goes without saying.

The team looks a little light on the left ;) but its time to stop worrying about the opposition and blast the fuckers.

Zabba----Kompany---Mangala----Kolarov
Nasri------Yaya---Fernandinho-----Jovetic

Great, a front 6 of which only one tackles or chases back. Throw in a left back whose main attribute is getting forward. Bloody hell are you Pellegrini in disguise?
