City vs West Ham Post Match Thread.

Reasonable performance all things considered and two very good goals.

Carroll was under Lescott's control all afternoon until Kolo started marking him. Lescott was played to keep an eye on him but Bob changed it late on when Joe's back was fucked..I do worry sometimes.

Do we think Hart back was bad prior to the game? If so Pants should have been in. I was thinking that he was rolling the ball out rather than kicking as a test for Wembley as i doubt Wigan will push up.

The sort of performance/result we'd have been very happy with a couple of seasons ago. We've just set higher standards these days.

I was worried for a while that we'd be punished for not putting the game to bed, but fortunately Yaya saved the day with another moment of quality that we've grown used to seeing from him.

First game at Etihad for me, haven't been to Manchester since the Maine Road days. A bit flat atmosphere tbh compared to what i remember from MR. But the game wasn't all that important so I guess it's usually better.

Lescott my MOTM, hope we can keep him. What became very obvious to me seen from almost the top of the East stand is that we have absolutely no movement in front of the ball in our attacking play. We have 5 or 6 players walking or standing around the penalty area waiting for something to happen, very little initiative to create openings for play. Scoring opportunities are created when movement pull the defenders out of formation. As long as the only movement happens around the ball the brilliance of play that is required to outplay a balanced defense means we score far less goals than we otherwise could.

Just wanted to say thanks to all the City fans. Visited the stadium for the match on Saturday and was very impressed. Whilst not getting the result I wanted I found the whole day to be a great experience. Good banter with the City fans. Shame you got beaten by the rags to the title this time but there's always next season. Great reaction to at 23 mins for MVF from both sets of supporters. Good luck in the final against Wigan.
