Spent three weeks there about 22 - 23 years ago, great part of the world, a couple of pints in Lord Stanley, then bus into town, star ferry across the harbour, dander about the streets savouring the aromas and trying not to buy a rolex for £10 or get a tailor made suit, £3.50 for a glass of beer (less than half a pint back then was a bit expensive, but the view was great), then to haggle for a new radio or other electrical equipment and then to Temple Street Night market, happy days.
Also went to the services yacht club one afternoon, had a few pints and decided to have a swim in the south china sea, seen these strange buoys round the beach, so walked along the jetty before diving in, barman from the club came running out shouting at me....well, how was I to know they were shark nets.

Also backed the first three winners and the first two Quinellas (a reverse forecast bet) and then had a load of locals wanting my tip for the next race, no chance, time to move to another part of the stand, but didnt back another winner that night.

Sell your TV, Sell your car, re-mortgage your house, this will be a great trip.
