Re: City Ladies

@dobobobo

The skill is there now. I have been gobsmacked at how technically good the girls are. They can play I tell you.

I have no probs with the misogynistic views of some that male footy is better, but only if they are honest enough to go see the girls and say honestly they didnt enjoy seeing a City team working hard, playing good football and loving the shirt.

I really enjoyed sundays game, yes we lost but we are on the right track and I really do think its to the clubs credit that they are investing so much into the girls game.

I cant make it sunday but im really looking forward to the week after when the girls make there Etihad debut.

Id just say dont be so cynical, dont be scared you may just enjoy it

Neither are popstars.

Everything is relative.
Like comparing led zeppelin to bananarama

I take it you don't like females? (I'm male) Or you're on a shit salary? (I'm on £18,000 and just been made redundant)

Women in various jobs for many decades, and to this day, get paid unfairly compared to men in comparative roles and you woman about £21,000 a year? (Even if it was a week, I couldn't give a fuck.)

Consider the fact that people both female and male are working hard to make women's football more popular. To attract people to play the sport you have to pay them fairly. Yes the skill isn't there at the moment, but it will come when women's football gets more financial backing and girls start training from a young age because they know there is career in it and their are opportunities to train at every age growing up.

Re: City Ladies

Also what I liked was my best mate Jane liking the girls to our boys. She knows her footy I taught her.

Jill Scott is yaya

Toni Duggan is Sergio

Steph Houghten is Vinny

and Marsh is girl Zabba

I meant in general and in direct comparison to male football. There is definatly talent in the odd match I have seen when it's been on TV, but the type of mistakes made, formation errors, lack of anticpation, etc. is simply down to lack of opportunity for females to be profressionally trained year on year as they grow up. It will all come in time, just need people to keep on investing in the sport.

I watched the match last Thursday and will watch again because I enjoyed it. Mainly because all I ask of any player when they wear the City shirt is to battle and do their best. The women did that in the match last week.

My only problem is the fixtures. I haven't got the time, to follow the men one day and the women the next day (as an example). However, if the home matches for the women conincided with the mens home matches, i.e. one kicked off before the other on the same day, or kicked off after the other match ended, then i'd be well up for that! (Obvisouly it would have to be on different pitches, but that is easily doable thanks to our wonderful owner.)

Why do you assume I don't like females just because I don't think they're very good at football and why do you think I'm on a shit salary? Lower league football clubs are dying on their feet and people are moaning about the lack of English talent in the game at a time when money is being pumped into ladies football, let's see what happens when the novelty wares off, hey but who knows one day we might win the World Cup again, not.

Jill Scott is Jill Scott - extraordinary 90 minute performance at Liverpool last week, though they all played well.

yeah, i didnt understand that, there is no point in comparing them.

The women's game is different and developed its own way,

Re: City Ladies

I am glad, that someone has removed that 'crass' comment regarding the women's team.that was posted late last night.
No need for it. Whatsoever.

Although I haven't posted many posts,I have been trawling and reading blue moon everyday for a fair few years now,
And to be honest, nothing has offended me and saddened me,more than the post, over the women's team.
I don't care if you have something constructive(albeit positive or negative) to say about the women's game or team.
But we shouldn't lower ourselves,to being the lowest common denominator.
These women represent our club,so again I urge fans to come and support the women on Sunday v Chelsea in the cup.

For all the parts highlighted in bold, I ask this question: Why should women's football be punished for something that affects the men's game?

Football is and always will be classed under the entertainment sector. The world constantly moves forward, due to great advancement in technology people can now explore other interests. Football as no divine right to exist forever.

Yes money is being pumped into women's football at the moment. But, it's costing you fuck all, so why blame women's football?

Re: City Ladies

I saw the highlights of the game. Houghton impressed me a lot. She looks really good.
