Why do you assume I don't like females just because I don't think they're very good at football and why do you think I'm on a shit salary? Lower league football clubs are dying on their feet and people are moaning about the lack of English talent in the game at a time when money is being pumped into ladies football, let's see what happens when the novelty wares off, hey but who knows one day we might win the World Cup again, not.

For all the parts highlighted in bold, I ask this question: Why should women's football be punished for something that affects the men's game?

Football is and always will be classed under the entertainment sector. The world constantly moves forward, due to great advancement in technology people can now explore other interests. Football as no divine right to exist forever.

Yes money is being pumped into women's football at the moment. But, it's costing you fuck all, so why blame women's football?
I'm bored of this now, you think women's football is great and I think it's rubbish so you carry on watchin that and il carry on watchin Sunday league. And as a season tkt holder at city that spends a lot of money at city I would say it's not costing me fuck all unless it's self funding. Bye, have fun

You know that bit in bold isn't the arguement here.

It's a about salaries which you seem to indicate should be spent on men rather than women.

Or not spent at all and use the saved money to reduce ticket prices ?

Sorry, I don't follow what you mean.

Re: City Ladies

The arguement that money spent on the Womans team could be used to reduce SC prices is just a non arguement.

Do the people argue that money spent on the new academy should be used to reducd SC prices too?

The club are building for everyone, for Manchester and for men and women and thats a real positive in my book.

Also its simple if you dont like the ladies team ignore it and let us who have boughf into the idea enjoy it.

Speaking for myself rasc, I haven't bought into the idea of a ladies team. I bought into the idea of Manchester City football club. I did it more than 4 decades ago.

Fat old blokes who weren't very good for us 20 years ago get my unconditional support provided they represent a City veterans team. 9 year old lads who probably won't be on our books in 5 years time get my support when they parade around the ground. Pre-season friendly sides full of players we are looking to ship out on loan get my unconditional support.

City teams, in short, get my support irrespective of their gender or quality.

I find it a little surprising that some posters dismiss any city team on grounds of either quality (given where we were not so long ago) or gender.

Re: City Ladies

Wise wise words Chris.

Im 40+ plus years into the lunacy that is MCFC and my family are the same.

I reckon my old grandad who first watched us at Hyde Road would be delighted we have a girls team as my nanna made him take her to all the cup finals we played in.

If in blue support them, its simple

It's that simple rasc. Why anyone would prefer a Sunday league team to a city team is beyond me, but each to their own

I can identify with mates who play Sunday league football, because I grew up with them. I can identify with Manchester City because I was brought up on it. I don't really identify with women's football because it's not part of my traditions / upbringing. It's that simple
