I see our girls have been getting a bit stroppy, keeper Karen Bardsley charged with violent conduct after a clash with a Brum forward who was sent off in the 0-0 draw at the weekend. At least neither of them went down clutching their faces as if pole-axed.

How can the ref have not spotted it but seen the Brum forward elbow and slap her. Karen only pushed her slightly in retaliation to a couple of elbows and then just stood there and took another slap to the face. Bang out of order if she is charged

She was always gonna get a stretch for that. There should be some element of mitigation, but the good old FArce have to be seen to be 'even-handed'! It's a bit much to expect players in the heat of a game to stand there and be assaulted without taking a little self-defensive action.

The Woman's Football Show on BBC2 last night had a feature on the CFA. Some positive comments after the piece, for a change!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b05q0drl/the-womens-football-show-2015-episode-1 Watch from 21:30
Still pretty poor coverage from the BBC, a couple of hi lights from the Liverpool/ Sunderland games, then a bit on Sunderland, some hi lights from Notts County/ Chelsea and Birmingham/ City, a bit from the Millwall/ Everton game from WSL2, then a bit about the CFA and England playing there ! With the ex Everton player giving City some credit for the CFA and how the teams are organized, ie a couple of teams EDS/academy and women but all one club, and that was about it , ending with a plug for live "radio" coverage of the women international, so no space on BBC3 for it ?

Let's be fair; Bardsley elbowed the girl in the back of the head after getting an elbow in the ribs.

The girl retaliated. Overly so, but she was irked by the unnecessary back head shot.

from what i saw the keeper was lucky not to see red at the time

The unfortunate thing about NOT having video evidence played at the time, is that the likely outcome of Bardsley not retaliating, would be that the Brummie forward would not have received any sanction. I think the ref did not see the first elbow, nor Bardsley's reaction, but sanctioned the THIRD strike! And the FArce brings up the cavalry!
