City's Global Fanbase

Ah; quick question. If you were to buy a copy of "Readers' Wives" (for the articles, obviously) and a copy of the U****d mag (for your mate of course), which one do you hide inside the other when you leave the newsagents?

It won't matter Ryan Wilson is probably on the front cover of both

Wow. That has changed. Was there four years ago with my family and that wasn't the case.

Believe it or not Arsenal have the most shelf space, not sure why. We are 2nd followed closely by Chelsea, then Manure. Not 100% sure but I think there were a few Spuds shirts as well.

I go about twice a year to Florida and we're steadily increasing our shirt output, although last year I had a flying visit to Epcot and we didn't have any, must have sold out ;)

Was having a look at Barcelona's ground last month ( didn't go in because the twats ain't getting any of my money to help them buy players) and saw 2 blues and coz I had my city t-shirt on we got chatting.
Turns out 1 was from just outside London but had moved to Salford to be closer to ground and other was from Bolton .
Bumped into a Dortmund fan who said Gundogan was his favourite player and City were now his 2nd club.
Our fan base is growing very quickly and we should welcome all of them.

My parents, my partner and I are all from Manchester and we're all on our way to the spurs match in Nashville. Will report back on the split of fans. For some odd reason spurs seem to be the trendy team to support over here in the states.

I won't even fly on "United" Airlines. ;)
Sadly, needs must!

However, when saying goodbye at the cockpit door, if anyone is wearing anything Man U related, I always tell them they are "lucky I didn't see that before takeoff, or you wouldn't have come!" Have even been at the gate and pointed out someone wearing a United top, and said loudly, "That fella over there with that red top on needs to change his shirt if he wants to get on. I'm a Man City fan and I won't allow it!" Usually gets a laugh, but have seen a concerned face or two!

I think I already told this one, but I met Gordon Brown and his bodyguard in SFO and when I mentioned City, he told his son, Alistair, to turn around...City sweatshirt! Good lad!

;-)

I'm living on the far west side of Berlin these days (Spandau to be precise). There are huge Turkish and Middle Eastern communities in the area. I consistently see lads with City gear. Barely a scum shirt to be found.

I like to think I'm doing my bit to increase the fan base over here. My local is a really hard core Hertha supporter's bar. I've slowly convinced the landlady to stick City games on whenever we're on the box. We get a nice little crowd turning up for games now and the Hertha lads have adopted us as their English club.
