We pretended it was gonna be our 5th kit, as you suggested, but they found out and have muscled in to claim the kit as theirs. Just like they do with players.

There was a first time ever we wore blue socks. A first time ever we wore white socks. A first time ever we wore maroon on the socks. A first time ever we had navy on the shirt. A first time ever we had white on the shirt. A first time ever we had maroon on the shirt.

Never set yourself in stone. History is constantly on going and new elements will always be added or evolve.

Win the CL, treble or whatever in that kit and 10 years from now there will be cries from fans to have a touch of purple on the anniversary home shirt.

In a year where we have an as classic as it gets anniversary home shirt on sale, I’m not too fussed about a purple band on the shoulders of a one season home kit.

Just my take.
