Stranger things have happened, but as he's the only senior DM in training so far, he's at least got a chance to impress.Time for Kalvin to show he can cover for Rodders...
Anyone have an idea about what "cultural convention" in the US is about?
From City's website
"Please note, all matches in the US kick off around 10 minutes later than advertised due to the cultural convention of the country."
Your explanation is right but it's a shit cultural convention and we should get rid of itMost sporting events in the US start the broadcast on the hour with a short pregame discussion and then kickoff or tip off. Guessing with these matches it'll be that, a commercial and then kickoff.

It does now! It's also true that sporting events are not built around tv windows in the same way football is. So an NFL game could run 3 hours to 3:30 or longer with overtime. College games can go 4 hours. Baseball has no timing mechanism. If you've grown up with it, you kind of just accept it and sometimes appreciate more than a fixed 90 plus stoppage time.
