That new Los Angeles stadium looks pretty good. Would be great for a holiday in the sun too.
Why cant these world leaders get together and ban war? They are the guys in charge. Spend the money on education, hospitals, medical research, ensuring everyone has enough to eat and somewhere to live and space exploration instead. I'll keep dreaming.

Trouble in the Crimea is a different issue, Vladimir is a shit stirrer par excellence and the West is yet again falling for it.

And Donbass? Looks a very similar issue, also quite similar to events in Georgia. Putin is undoubtedly an expert shit stirrer, but he also has a track record of taking over former USSR territory regardless of the wishes of the current governments of it. He’s not just talk.

Have posted these points on Kharkiv site.
1. The USA, Britain and Germany put the communists in power as they did not want a strong Russia
2.When the Berlin Wall came down James Baker US Secretary of State promised NATO would not move one inch further East..promises broken.
3.Putin offered to become a member of NATO..Clinton admin declined this offer.
4.2008 Bucharest conference ,Putin stated categorically he would not accept Ukraine being in NATO.. think what happened in Cuba, and if the US would tolerate Russian missiles in Mexico.
5. The US only came into WW2 after Pearl Harbour..The Russians lost 27 million military and civilians, by far the most of any country. The Nazi's would perhaps have won the war if not fighting on two fronts.USA has far more military bases worldwide and has been in many confrontations over the globe,mostly useless. Think about WMD.

The Western media never point these issues out. Russia is the aggressor. You have to understand the Russian perspective.

None of those items are a rebuttal of what I’ve said. You seem to agree with me that the Russians have an interest in continuing and perhaps the military conflict.

Point one sounds like a conspiracy theory. It seems to come from a mindset that western powers rule the world and others don’t possess their own agency. It’s odd that the west can successfully install communists in Russia, but then failed to remove them from Vietnam or Cuba. Lenin came by train from Germany, beyond that I doubt any western powers were in control of events.

You’ve perhaps missed a point six: the Russians also committed to respecting Ukrainian territorial integrity.

Not sure why I “have to understand the Russian perspective”. I have my own perspective and I’m perfectly happy seeing things from my own point of view reflecting my own values and interests. Putin doesn’t seem to spend much energy seeing things from a Ukrainian perspective.
