CL stand closures v BMG and Celtic

The point that most are missing on here is that both Celtic and Borussia will have 6,000 fans in the stadium REGARDLESS. We can either accommodate them properly so they are segregated OR we can let the mingle with our home fans (which anyone who was in 114/115 last season against Borussia will know is a bad idea).

If it was down to me I'd say give them SSL3 and part of CBL3 (if the demand is there). We won't fill it, it keeps them out the way and the club will make more money from ticket sales.
A voice of reason
BAN HIM/HER!

Agree with all except CBL3, I aint moving!

Celtic could sell 20,000 tickets or more for this game so there has to be a limit on how many we give them - we can't just satisfy every ticket application from their fans - and I'd limit it to the 6000 in SS3 which I think is a reasonable gesture because this is one CL home group game (Barca and Real) aside which we should be able to sell out without too much trouble. I'd also add that it's only fair that Celtic reciprocate and give us a similar allocation for the match at Parkhead as the demand for tickets will be similar to Celtic's demand for tickets at our gaff. BMG is a different situation - we probably won't sell out so it makes sense to give them 6000 going off the numbers they brought last year while for the away leg demand will be far less than it's going to be for Celtic, and 2500-3000 tickets ought to suffice for BMG.

Just a point to make - When Rangers played their Europa Cup Final against Zenit it was estimated that they brought 150,000 fans with them.
It did not do anyone any good when the 'Fan Zone ' Giant TV , in Piccadilly , went off just before K.O. Many angry Rangers fans !.

For the Celtic game at least, it will be 6,000 fans in the SS + they'll snap up all of the tickets floating about on ticket exchanges, corporate etc

I'm hoping that the fact Gladbach & Celtic are being given around 6000 tickets and a full stand might improve the atmosphere from our behalf.

Tickets are as little as £15 so I'd say there's a good chance that we'll sell out and seeing 6000 supporters of the opposition might just be the rocket up the arse needed to encourage our home support to stand up and be heard.

If the club prices the tickets at the right price, there should be no reason why we can't fill all our stands. What I have in mind is a 3 game package for all Champions League games say £100 to £140 for the adult ticket with kids prices from £30-£45. I see no reason why the club can't sell out if they did this.
