I clapped like fuck when Scholes was sent off at Wembley ... after his leg breaking tackle on Zabs.

Ah ok. Just wondered why you asked me what exactly i was suggesting. I was agreeing with another poster that it was odd to see Zab called PZ. Also, it was odd to ask why we clapped him off when it was obvious that we appreciated the passion and effort he displays every game. The fact that we love the fact that he has been with us for many years now - unusual in this day and age. The fact that he let his passion get the better of him and we understood why but you didn't

it was a silly challenge by zabba,knowing he was on a yellow,i think the ovation was to let him know that whatever he does hes one of us,he is in our hearts,zabba is the fucking man.
weve seen him grow into a fucking legend of the club,he plays like we all would,he never leaves anything on the pitch,
I met him at work when he was getting on a plane with aguero,aguero was a bit stand offish(you would be if you saw me and my pals from workand we did ambush them for a photo :)) zabba was the complete opposite,hes a top bloke.

I can't speak for everybody but those around me in the Colin Bell thought he'd been given a straight red for some sort of tussle with Costa, and not for a tackle. And so, it looked like somehow Zabba had been judged a straight red, whilst Costa only a yellow.... which inflamed the fans.
From that point of view the applause was as much as a mark of 'injustice' as applause for his contribution, but in the cold light of day, it would seem the ref had to give him a yellow.
At the time, it seemed like the ref had ruined a very good game, but of course, in some respects it livened up the game, but still, the ref was card happy, and when that happens, a red is 'coming' when there's absolutely no need. It wasn't a particularly dirty game, but you'd never think that from the card count.
