To the tune off " I love u baby "

Oh Zabalettttta, you are the love of my life
Oh Zabalettttta I'd let you bang my wife
Oh Zabalettttta trust in me when I say

Repeat

Brilliant!

Isn't that the song that the Rags had for Owen Hargreaves?

Not sure, was a song for a Hearts player, that's how I know it

Because Zab gives his all every single game and he was undeservedly booked imo for his first challenge...he bleeds blue that's why he received the rapturous ovation by the City fans. Rodney, you plonker!

For me City's discipline is not a worry.
Certain referees cards to game ratios worry me a little. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/4145246.stm - but let's face it, the media, the pundits and the fans know who they are. And is it really a problem? http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...pe--has-the-top-flight-gone-soft-8581056.html

I'm sure if you analysed it, games involving City would show red cards are very unusual: the vast majority of matches played do not involve any reds at all.

The players at City that get the bookings most often sit in defence, and throw blood and thunder at protecting their goal. Contact and mistakes are inevitable.

Since 2007/08 from our current squad we have had a massive 17 red cards.
I've clapped Pablo when he saw red. At City in competitive games he's had 6.
I've clapped Kompany when the red card has come out. At City in competitive games he's had 4
I've clapped Milner for getting sent for a shower too early. At City in competitive games he's had 1[/b

You can see who bleeds blue, who puts a shift in, and you can accept the odd red card. It may cost points, a cup final win or something - but at least they are giving their all.
Some of their red cards, if I was on their shoes - I'd make the same challenge time and time again.

6 other red card holders in the current squad include.
I'm not sure I would have clapped the following... Martín Demichelis (1 red), Dedryck Boyata (2 reds), Nasri (1 red), Gaël Clichy (1 red), Kolarov (1 red). For me at the time, these players did not cut the grade required to gain everlasting respect.

I'm certain 14 other red cards got a clap or two:
Dunne. At City in competitive games he's had 6
Nigel De Jong. At City in competitive games he's had 1
Gareth Barry. At City in competitive games he's had 1
Kolo Toure for his single (1) red card in City colours.
Distin for his 1 red card in laser/sky blue.
Daniel van Buyten versus Leeds (1 red overall).
Wright-Phillips (3 red cards overall).
Will I go to hell for this?

The other 21 red cards... I never clapped.
Balotelli (4 red), Adebayor (1 red), Gelson Fernandes (1 red), Ireland (1), Petrov (1), Barton (2 red), Corradi (2 red), Andy Cole (1 red), Stephen Jordan (1 red), Mills (1 red), Negouai (1 red), Anelka (1 red), Sun Jihai (1 red), Niclas Jensen (1 red), Benarbia (1 red), Tiatto (1 red).

When the proverbial hits the spinning air motion device, we stand together or we fall together.

(Any cup games before 2006/07 are not included as I cannee find the geeky data - this includes all league games since our return to the topflight under Keegan).

Wasn't clapping the fact he got sent off, was clapping the fact he's a City legend and he was on his way off the pitch. Do players who have bad games not deserve to be applauded off? Would make for some very awkward moments during substitutions.

Loved the fact that he put his hands together and apologized as he came off. Makes me love him even more.

On Zab, it was never ever a yellow for his foul on Hazard to start with. But ... with the knowledge of carrying a yellow, his (2nd) challenge on Costa was stupid. He apologized knowing he made a big mistake that in the end could have cost us. I clapped for the players including Zabaleta for his part in getting the result, but not when he was sent off. In fact I was at that moment fuming at the ref as this was an expected result for uselessly waving yellow cards for nothing.

On clapping a player being sent off. It depends. If it was a stupid sending off at a costly moment in the game, no applause there. Unless he played such a bad game you are actually glad he has been sent off ... Or if it was due to circumstances for which the player is not to blame, applause for what he has done up until the moment he is ordered to go. But in those moments I probably forget to applaude him, instead having a go at the ref or whoever is to blame for his sending off.

We clapped him off because he is a city legend.

On a slightly separate note, can we not change the song to something like "he's harder than Van Damme" rather than that ex-rag thug.

I sing "he's harder than me Mam" plus I sing "he is a City man" for the first line !

I applauded Zab on Sunday because he bleeds Blue & he shouldn't have been sent off, in my opinion.

I get the Ops point to be fair. If we had lost 1-0 after controlling the game? I love him but it could have cost us big time and I believe it did cost us 2 points.
