I think you fell for that.
A minor offense like speeding doesn´t carry a criminal record.
It does, but it is disregarded for most purposes such as background checks.
Nevertheless speeding is a criminal offence, and it is recorded.
And that means if you have a conviction for speeding you have a criminal record.
And although the points will leave your licence after a few years, you can be sure the record of the crime remains on the police computer for all time.
