I can’t remember it entirely but wasn’t it especially harsh being so early in the game ?I was fooking fuming that day, Mancini not happy either, quite rightly imo

It's a claim worthy of investigation I would have hoped, but I haven't seen any journalist so far want to take it on, like previously with Halsey's comments. I hope that changes.
We, and the FA especially, should be looking to champion the integrity of the game as much as possible, and should be very keen to understand the comments, even if historical, as to whether this runs deeper.
My suspicion would be that it does. Any big business attracts darker elements, football has been no exception, and i find that for the biggest and most attractive league game in the world, the Premier League and the FA are notably silent on what they are actively doing to guard against corruption and imbalance in our game.
I can confirm it did hit his back, outside the area, and Clattenburg is a bent ****.The 14th February 2016 Danny Rose crosses for Spurs and the ball hits Sterling on the back whilst he was off the ground and impossible to say whether he was in the penalty area or not without VAR. Clattenburg without any hesitation whatsoever points straight to the penaly spot.
The fact that the ball hit Sterling on the back and there was uncertainty if he was even in the penalty area was ignored by that complete prat of a referee. He should have been sacked on the spot for that decision alone.
