Clattenburg, the FA & Adebayor - proof that the system is bent

Coming to this thread late, but did anyone mention SWP's violent assault on the soft and gentle Rory Delap?

Lying on the floor, SWP flicked out a leg that barely brushed against Delap. Delap later went on to say that he was unaware that SWP had kicked him! The ref at the time saw it clearly as he was running over and was staring right at it. I think it was Martin Atkinson but my memory is crap. I had video at the time which showed the ref looking at the incident as SWP flicked his leg out.

You can guess the rest. Atkinson did nothing at the time (which was absolutely the correct decision given the triviality of SWP's flick and the fact that he had been kicked all over the park all afternoon. But surprise, surprise, after the ensuing media shit-storm, Atkinson suddenly decided he was blind and had not seen the incident.

This stinking cheating bollocks has been going on for far too long. This happened in 2009.

I recall City being particularly upset because Clattenburg told City the yellow card was issued for improper conduct (after the game) and they planned to defend the case on this point (I.e. A card had been issued for the offense) only to find Clattenburg had amended his match report and changed the reason to time wasting. I wonder who helped him change it? I honestly don't think the FA disciplinary process is biased against City but I do think it's a shambles.
That's the question that needs answering. Have some refs been swayed or got themselves into something (bribes/blackmailing?) with criminal organisations or other football clubs, or is the governing body instructing them? Or are people in the governing body being swayed or got themselves into something with criminal organisations and are involving or forcing referees?

IMO this just doesn't happen to keep some football clubs happy at the expense of others, as is shown in American sport where it shows that different winners all the time doesn't diminish money or interest in a sport. There's nothing to be gained from having the same teams winning all the time. There really isn't. IMO it's high level criminal organisation from the likes of European mafias and the Yakuza or national governments who are making money from it all.

That Arsenal game v utd was the worst refereeing I have ever seen just plain corrupt no other explanation for how bad the decisions were.
I would go for the liverpool everton derby a few years ago, thats was so blatently in liverpools favour it was funny to see.

I'd go for the Chelsea-Barcelona game in the 2008 CL semi final

For one of the decisions in that game Eto'o charges the ball down rugby style with his arms above his head and the ball hit his arms in the box and the pen wasn't given

I'll give you some other stats about Clattenburg reffing our games. From 2004/5 (the first time he reffed us) to 2008/9, our league record in games under him was P9 W7 D2 L0 and that's with a crap team. Since 2009 that record has been P25 W10 D8 L7, against a total league record of W142 D43 L43. If our record under him had mirrored our league record then that would be P25 W15 D5 L5. So on that basis he has potentially fiddled us out of something like 12 points. You can work out what some of those are:

Potentially 2 at Bolton in 2009/10, when he wrongly sent Bellamy off in a 3-3 draw;
Potentially 2 at Fulham in 2011/12 when Dzeko was fouled in the lead up to one of their goals;
Potentially 3 at Chelsea the same season, when he wrongly denied us a penalty when we were 1-0 up;
Potentially 3 at Liverpool in 2013/14, when he should have awarded two penalties to us and sent Suarez off.
Potentially 2 at Arsenal in 2014/15 when both their goals were preceded by fouls on City players and we were denied a penalty after Wilshere played basketball.

And then the two Spurs games last season where we might well have got at least a point in both.

And why is the split between those years so important? Because in 2009 his mate, Thaksin Shinawatra, was completely removed from the club.

Edited for accuracy.
