Course it was a yellow.
Only problem I ever had with Clattenburg was when he bizarrely put his arm around Rooney when they were away at Wigan. On the flip side of that though he was also the ref of a game which saw United humiliated at home by one of their biggest rivals, and had a major role to play in that result by sending off Evans.

The ginger pig commits the same tackle 10 times a game, week in, week out yet rarely if ever does he get a yellow.

Why? Reputation, that's why and the same reason Balo gets a yellow, every fucking time.

Fuck all to do with refs applying the laws of the game in a fair way in my book!
I can't argue with that to be honest How Scholes' record doesn't show more yellow and red cards for his 'tackles' is beyond me.

All any football fan wants is fair treatment of players. If Balo deserves to walk he walks, no issues with that but im not having cards issued for challenges, many wouldn't even get a talking too, just because he has a reputation.

Re: Clattenburg

Cant stand Clattenberg and from speaking to people who know or have met him, that is justified. But I dont think he did that much wrong yesterday, maybe the handball could have been a penalty I couldnt tell. Mario's first was late and deserved a yellow, there's no argument. His second I didnt think it did cos it looked like he took the ball first, so I think he got that right to. Because he has been so poor in the past I think we notice his decisions more than we would with other refs as we are waiting for a bad one. Dont forget he was the ref in the 6-1 derby and sent Evans off.

Mario was booked correctly and committed another which any other day of the week would have been a yellow. He should have walked, we were the befactors of lenient refereeing today.

I really dont understand your arguement or the point youre trying to get across. Are you suggesting Mario shouldn't have been booked for the first? In which case you're argueing against yourself about applying the rules fairly. Or are you saying you want Mario to get special exemptions because:

A) Scholes does or
B) because he's a City player?

How in Gods name can winning the ball be a second yellow and thus a red card in your book?

Didn't lunge in, feet were not off the floor, won the ball = no yellow card!

On the first im saying we see hundreds of similar challenges week in, week out with the vast majority going unpunished so if Balo warrants a yellow, so does every other fucker as the yellow has been given for an infringement of the laws of the game and the refs will apply those laws to every players in a fair way.

Re: Clattenburg

This thread is proof, two people can watch the exact same thing and see two totally different things....

Kinda like a visual 'Stupendous' situation...

Absolutely spot on! He should have gone yesterday I believe. I don't know for certain as the wankers on MOTD are never going to show that.

Re: Clattenburg

The problem I have with Clattenburg is not one of biased. I think he takes the momentum out of the game by constantly feeling the need to lecture players every time he blows for a free-kick.

Re: Clattenburg

when Wigan, Stoke and the like play, these type of tackles always go unpunished, 'physical' teams get away with bad tackles every week whilst our challenges seem to be punished every week
