Claudio Bravo - 2016/2017 performances (continued)

Whilst his shot-stopping leaves a lot to be desired, I fully expect him to be our number one next season. I am hoping that his apparent inability to save a shot at goal is nothing more than a shortage of confidence.

Though the goal he conceded today was deflected, I would still expect most other keepers in the Prem to make such a save. He was slow to react to a shot that wasn't struck with much power.

Considering his glowing reputation and high fee, it's hard not to be disappointed with his performances thus far.

Don't be ridiculous,we are not a cult and we can trust him but not like everything he does
IF we drop out of the top 4 he should get it in the neck the same as mp and bobby would of if it was on their watch

You do realise we won today and according to the manager you worship Bravo played a big part. And Pep is not only right, it's gone the way he feels his team should play. Most games we spoiled points with Bravo in goal was due to missed chances more than him not stopping shots. Not even talking how many of these goals are actually his fault as the one today. It's again the main talking point today. Not the 3-1. not the win, not Bravos part in creating chances. No ... it's about conceding a goal that most goalkeepers would concede. You and many others can't see Pep's way of playing football yet yo adore him for the wrong reasons. That is being ridiculous.

The 7 in 7 stat is a bit harsh to use it as a stick to beat him with, I can't dispute the fact that he is conceding soft goals but we are conceding maybe 1 or two shots so if he concedes one goal then his stats are shot to pieces.

With Hart, I often felt that we conceded a lot of shots every game so he had the chance to make saves and build confidence. Bravo does nothing the whole game (apart from improving our passing from the back and helping build attacks etc) but then the team have one shot and it is going in. After that goal, we pretty much don't concede any more shots and so Bravo ends the game with 1 shot against/1 shot conceded which is terrible of course and Bravo hasn't had the chance to make any saves and build any confidence.

How can it be said that "Bravo can obviously perform as a keeper" It is obvious that he has performed as a keeper in the past. How many games has he played for City and how many have been good ones? An outfield player who contributed as badly in their position would have been relegated to a permanent bench warmer and no one would be defending them. City have bought loads of players in the past that similar stats could be quoted. Fowler, Mac waste of space, Clough etc. Their pedigree didn't garauntee that they could still perform at the same level.

It won't be Bravo's faulty if we don't make top four. Felt sorry for him today, played his part in a competent display with some accurate distribution, the one apparently unconvincing punch la ned at the feet of one of our players in space. I haven't seen the goal back yet, it looked poor but the rest of the team had switched off by then and he'd barley been needed to switch on. You might argue a top keeper pulls out the save at any time but it just seems like nothing goes for him right now.

This is the bravo thread and i have commentated on the win in multiple threads so read those,i can see perfectly well the way pep wants to play so don't treat me like some dumb blonde, the point about bravo is all of the rest of the keepers in the prem are better at actually keeping the ball out of the net,i have praised his distribution many times,a keeper has to be good at all round keeping not just one aspect.I have also said many times a good preseason might sort bravo's head out and he could be great next season but now i feel he just isn't settled and has no confidence when the ball comes at him,he should not be in goal for us again this season,it's my opinion so like it or lump it i don't really care either way
