Why would either have wanted to stay, Hart is an experienced international keeper, Gunn is 23 and needs first team football, neither had any prospect of displacing Ederson in the next few years. No lesson to learn our experienced 2nd keeper that was happy to stay got injured , it happens.

We sold Hart because he can’t do the build up which is fundamental to the way we play. Can’t understand how some people don’t get that. Only a limited number of keepers can do what pep wants. Muric has been trained that way for a few years. That’s why this makes sense. No offence to grimshaw but 20 y.o and never made a senior appearance. I guess he is there for numbers.

Yeah, we should always carry three top class keepers just in case one gets injured, in fact why not have ten or twelve, you just never know?

A lesson? And if a player didn’t want to stay? Force him? It makes sense that neither Gunn nor Hart wanted to stay to become a third choice goalkeeper.

Hart was never going to stay. His (lack of) ability with his feet means that Pep wouldn’t entertain him, even as a back-up.

And £10 million for Gunn? It really was a no-brainer.

It was the right thing to do in recalling Murić, IMHO.

1. Why have a recall clause in the loan arrangement if you’re not going to use it?
2. If you have a recall clause in the loan arrangement, and you don’t use it, when one of the senior 'keepers has a season-ending injury, what message does that send out to the young player concerned.
3. Pep and his coaching staff will be able work with Aro and Danny Grimshaw, so that they can come into the team if necessary. I expect Murić to play in the early rounds of both domestic cup competitions.

Why do we have recall clauses with some players and not others. Is it because some are of the clubs are part of the CFG group. I get the feeling that we pulled some strings to get Muric back. Not saying it's not the right to do but NAC Breda seemed to be saying that Muric couldn't come back.
