The only football I watch is City so I don't know if this bloke is a better overall keeper than Joe or not?
If he is, and Pep sees him as an upgrade, fair enough! We all want to see the best players at the club!
Have to say though, I'm a big Joe Hart fan having seen him make hundreds of great saves for us...As we all have!
All keepers make mistakes from time to time but Joe hasn't made many when he's been between the sticks for us
and I can't help thinking there's risks attached with changing him out (assuming he's leaving) that aren't worth taking?
Is a new keeper really a priority? Does spending the best part of £20 million actually get us an upgrade?
Can he and any family he has settle and be content enough to play his best football in an unfamiliar city, country and league?
Sorry for the long post but for me a dodgy euro campaign and one he should have got to in a pre season friendly has the media
and some Blues highlighting problems that any keeper, anywhere will encounter throuout a career.

We will get 30 million for joe and this guy will cost 18. No idea if he is better or not. I can't help but feel joe has gone stale.

He is almost 30 how much "development" is left in him..

Ever heard the term you can't teach an old dog new tricks? Rhetorical question.
Bravo was 31 when he changed his game style moving from Real Sociedad to Barca, see my stats above. Hart is 29, 2 years younger than when Bravo "learnt new Tricks" after joining Barca.

Yeah tbf I thought Guardiola was supposed to be a developing manager rather than one who needed things handed to him. Not too tied to a system to be able to play to his squad strengths either. Must have been wrong.

If Bravo sings for City it'll be the 9th player to come in. The 9th!!
On the goalkeepers' front l immediately agree that it certainly looks like he gives Hart hardly any chance to develop skills Guardiola wants from his goalkeeper. Some say it is not to be developed but no one knows until it's tried. Btw the exact words Pep used when asked if he could play the same way in the PL.

What you tend to overlook is the aspect of Pep famousness to make players better and he is a great team builder. Either way it'll be interesting how City will develop under Pep in all departments.

We all love joe for his passion and cos he's city through and though but if he played for a different club and not us we wouldn't say he was a great Keeper.
He's not even in top 5 in the league
Loris , de Gea , cech , cortious are all ahead wouldn't surprise me if jack butland surpasses joe as England number 1 this season.

You got to remember before Mancini got the boot he was gonna sign begavoic from stoke.

Spot on

Nice try.
Not being tied to a certain system and playing the squad to its strengths does not mean, City is not allowed to sign players under Pep. That by the way means developing a squad as well.

Finally, maybe Pep is wrong and the lot backing Joe are right.
Wouldn*t it be your duty to shout for 90 mins "WE WANT JOE" until Pep is giving up and leaves?

The first part of this post relies on the goalkeeper position being a weakness to make it correct. We have bigger issues.

Maybe pep has too many other players to develop? Can't develop every single player in the squad after all.

There will be a reason why he doesn't think he can develop Joe... I trust he knows what he is doing better than either of us.

Well if Kolorov can become a centre half overnight (OK, not proven but really decent yesterday) there has to be hope for Joe.
