i was stood at the back of the top tier yesterday with my mates all 18/19. none of us were screaming in peoples faces for not singing, and were just generally trying to keep the atmosphere going. yes we have one or two who try and start the united related chants (heard a large amount of people singing munich songs towards the right side of the top tier but each to their own), but i dont understand the hatred the older lot have for the younger generation. somebody on the train was saying i bet half of these cunts have never been to maine road, what are the youngsters supposed to do? it isnt their fault they weren't there in the dark days. where did this happen? people screaming in other blues faces?

I am 47 and we need these young guys coming through with their energy, that's what being a blue is all about, why the grief? Upwards and onwards all blues together!

Why are all the 20 year olds going on about going through the hard years? I'm 35 so had to do the full fucking hit! To be fair when I go to an away game I want a beer and a sing song. It goes with the territory so let them get on with it. It is their City too!

not so much shouting, just voicing her dissaproval of it. she then got a chorus of is she munich in disguise. it goes to show it isnt mainly the '' disrepsectful, younger kids'' who sing songs like that

Well yeah, didn't mean shouting shouting, she was just a little iffy about the munich songs, which I agree on. The singing in that carriage was quite decent until some people (not generally young lads aswell) decided to bring out them sorts of songs.

Have to say though, feel a bit sorry for that lad who's voice gave in when trying to start songs! couldn't have picked a worse time for it to happen, i did hear a few puberty jokes from the end of the carriage.

Yeah, it was funny I was taking the piss myself but given this undercurrent of tension between some supporters I assume those puberty jokes were a bit more than banter. His voice gave in because he was singing his tits off all day, good effort from the lad. Some bloke behind me was moaning to his mate saying '' i bet half of these cunts have never been to maine road '' if he posts on here i'd like to say my first game was in 1997 when i was 5 against portsmouth at maine road, missed one, maybe two home games since. so i would like to say cheer up you miserable arse, and stop with the sweeping generalisations. :)

I don't know why your getting any shit (other than the Fulham song) bigger blue than you crap doesn't go down well with blues that went everywhere in the lower dividions when the team really needed us (apology excepted even tho I missed that one or I would have definitely said somthing).

Anyway we need young blues to bolster the ranks and I for one was pleased to see your enthusiasm, some of us are battle weary and need releaving on occasion. While were on that subject the girls were pretty too so its a win-win for me.

I was one of the horrible cunts at the back singing songs. First of all I would like to apologise if we have wound anyone up, I fully except the where were u at Fulham song was out of order. We were just wound up that no one was singing. There was a period in the first half about half an hour in when it just went dead.
Secondly I don’t see the problem with singing cities going down with a billion in the bank because its a united song. Who’s that on the run way is a city song would you rather us sing that? Harman Munsters head is a Liverpool song but that got an airing yesterday. Also to the plonker saying we are mocking our past by singing it. Really mate? Were not mocking city, where having a laugh. My favourite city song is we never win at home, am I allowed to sing that or is that mocking our past.
My last point is having a go at us. Fair enough if u think were a bunch of bell ends but at least were trying to make a bit of noise. Also if u want to tell us something in the future could u tell us at the match so we can alter our behaviour. Its a bit silly standing there all game getting more wound up where as you could just have a word and while obviously I can only speak for myself I am sure we will be polite and take your words on board.
Also I think it’s a bit hard having a go at the fact I was born in 1991 I can hardly do anything about that can I?

Also me and the main bodie of the lads there with me yesterday are nothing to do with the Blue Alliance its not fare dragging there good name through the mud.

the blue alliance are great, get the atmosphere going and keep singing going, how anyone can have a go at the them for that is beyond me, so what if it's about united sometimes- there are rivals why not, couldnt go yesterday but the majority of songs you could hear on the stream were solely about city :)

You lot carry on what your doing. As I said it is everyone's City and you can support our team exactly how you want. As long as you are behind the boys and are having a great time doing so then that is all that matters

Re songs/chants etc: I fully understand and get our collective humor that makes us wot we are, wot i don't get of late (not yesterday granted) is in one breath we moan about media spouts then we chant to their tune before hurryin back to check if all n' sundry heard us via the electrical/digital contraptions at one's disposal.

Anyways ...i've Probably made fuckall sense in this thread as i've been on the lash and lost me trail of thought but the thread O.P is a longtime good mate of mine City through n' through speaks from the heart and always wants the best !
