i was stood at the back of the top tier yesterday with my mates all 18/19. none of us were screaming in peoples faces for not singing, and were just generally trying to keep the atmosphere going. yes we have one or two who try and start the united related chants (heard a large amount of people singing munich songs towards the right side of the top tier but each to their own), but i dont understand the hatred the older lot have for the younger generation. somebody on the train was saying i bet half of these cunts have never been to maine road, what are the youngsters supposed to do? it isnt their fault they weren't there in the dark days. where did this happen? people screaming in other blues faces?

i didnt actually go to the meeting but have met him a feqw times & everyone loved him, got on really well and he made a good donation aswell. not the monster that bluemoon makes him out to be at all. and yep

I am actually envious of the "the spotty firm" that follow City these days as it is so easy for them now. They never had to watch an Alan Ball or Frank Clarke side struggle or suffer the indignation of of a Steve Coppell resignation due to embarrassing circumstances. The kids today don't know they're born ;)

I'm not a member of the BA but a similar age. We did have to watch all that shite, then we got the piss took out of us at school. City fans sing things that take the piss out of ourselves, it's what's made us different, made us blue. Ironically, it's those saying things like "don't sing we never win at home, we sang that when we were shit, we're not shit any more" are the ones becoming like rags.

What these 'older' fellas don't understand is that when we were at school we were scrapping in the playground over footy and it would be 75%Rags 5-15%City(depending on where you were) and 10-20% who didn't like footy. Everyone just chose to support the Rags, even kids who came from full City supporting families just chose United (hence the song "my old man said be a City fan"!). The shit I got for being a Blue was daily and sometimes it was just met with "you're a City fan? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

Us lads who are in our 20's now stuck with our club when it would have been so easy to just follow the crowd! We should be fucking applauded for doing so, not ridiculed for singing at matches!

I've met Peter Fletcher and you're right. I thought I saw you on the train out of Blackburn then on the Metro platform at Market St but my tram came in and I didn't have time to speak to you.

FFS sick of hearing all this bitching between 'OUR OWN' don't we have enough bullshit to deal with from the rags without these petty arguments between ourselves?? You should just enjoy your match day experience as you wish. At the end of the day we are all attending fans and should ALL treat each other with respect!

Im 22 i started going to Maine Road in the late nineties when we were shit but i don't see myself as a bigger or better fan than those who didn't. I go to games cause i love my club and nothing annoys me more than seeing bitching between our own! We are all blue we should unite in that fact and stick together! I respect the older lads and the younger lads who are trying to get our atmosphere going!

I had a great day yesterday apart from one nob (a blue) having a go at my mate for apparently turning round and looking at him but we told him to sort his head out and fuck off and he did. Always gonna be one nob though isn't there! Great day out, great result and i even got on tv after Savic scored so im told!! Can't be bad haha!
