Club Badge (merged)

Disappointed that they are changing the badge, I was convinced that it was a fait accompli from the start, I brought this point up at the first badge lecture, that all the other CFG City teams as well as the CFG logo itself are round (wait for Yokohama to get renamed and rebadged once CFG have a majority interest)
We have seen us rise from our lowest ebb to winning all the domestic honours while wearing the eagle, the same can't be said of any of the round ones.
Eh? We won the League in 68 and the Cup Winners Cup and the League Cup in 1970, and again in 76 wearing the round badge
In the 69 FACup final we wore the Manchester coat of arms

We didn't win anything with the current one until the take over.

We will win things with any badge as long as our owners remain

I was 'knocking them out quickly' because I haven t done anything new really, used thre circular badge of the NYCFC badge and elements from previous City badges and varied the colours that's all.

i knew as soon as they rebranded Melbourne Heart that ours was changing to a Circular badge with a SKY BLUE outer ring with Manchester City Football Club on it.

The only question was what would be the centrepiece image.

After seeing the crap design on the Melbourne City badge in the centrepiece, I feared for the new City badge because I knew ours was going to change (didn't expect it to take this long admittedly), so wanted to put different idea's out there to see what the actual reaction is hope that we get a really stunning centrepiece on ours.

No doubt, some tossers will blame me because they don't like what the club chooses.

But as long as the centrepiece represents City and not UAE or some commercial global thing like Cityzens on it, i'll be interested what the new badge is (it was done a long time ago and as been sitting in Khaldoon's safe gathering dust) , but I'm not optimistic going off the last choice they did (MelCFC) ... i think a lot will still use variations of the former badges like they do now, if its not like an "amazingly stellar design".

an i think they'll release it at Xmas when most are too drunk to object.

I said it before but I like your work Gav. Ignore the idiots.

I think the point he is making is we've won more under the eagle badge than any round badge, namely league titles which have the greatest importance of all, we've only managed 2 of these with the same badge once if we win it this year then there's absolutely no denying.

People can slag off the eagle but it is the badge associated with recent success and it's the badge most of the footballing world recognises.

It's also pretty unique and forgetting symbolism and forgetting I'm a blue, it does look like one of the better badges imo. Would be even better with a proper shield and without the stars

I love the round rose badge because the colours pop out and make it one of the better round designs, but round designs are so common. I hope they get this right. "Manchester City Football Club" needs to be on a white background.

Eh??? You dont actually think he was trying to say the badge made us win do you?

It's about significance, the takeover did happen under the current badge which is a good thing along with all the honors and new facilities and global growth.

You do understand that the badge plays zero part in any success?
