Club Badge (merged)

It's shite! (https://pp.vk.me/c7002/v7002570/11a5c/rb3oNRQpnLE.jpg). They've neither given a tribute to the old badge, nor made something pretty and/or new. The shield is quite irrelevant and too colorful as a badge of an A-league club. AND IT LACKS BLUE!!!

If we would have to change the badge, I'd choose this one as it reminds of the old one and has a good design. Blue and white colours in the two circles can be swapped, but the main idea of the following badge is still much better I think

There are also some different, but still pretty options. For example: https://pp.vk.me/c627823/v627823579/297bc/Un67y8MgHWM.jpg (the eagle and its proportions should be improved, but still)

Or we could simply return either of the old circle badges, it would be still better than what we seem to have in the future

That just looks like a NYFC version of our badge. That is shite mate. For me all they need to is remove the shield and remove the gold and it's perfect

No problem if when the world hears "CITY" they know there's only one City.

Which one? If you put the shield away, it would look like just as the badge of our american club.

Psst Slim...not really....the one you've depicted states football club and mcfc....which only freddie parrot would vote for.

The new variant doing the rounds shouldnt have had the shield...i think someone mentioned this..gav's (??) half shield offering was better on the eye.

Though I'm not especially fussed myself, i wouldn't rule out the club adding the "fc" back in at some point if there's enough disquiet about it. Even though this is the final badge for now we'll probs see the odd minor adjustment over the years in the way most clubs do from time to time without anyone else taking much notice.

That's also odd because Eddie Phillips has since come out in an interview and said the club were always welcome to use that badge. He ran the club shop. So either there has been a breakdown in communication or Franny Lee (Chairman when eagle badge landed) was telling porkies & shouldn't have changed from the Rose. It's one thing to dislike something. It's another to mistakenly believe what we were told.

Eddie Phillips is a liar he wanted £60K from the club to buy the rights, he was a mate of Swales and is just trying to stir it. Never ran the club shop. In fact you are believing Phillips rather than what the club said at the time

Nevertheless, from the distance/being smaller, the new badge reminds of the old one... Our nike kits got me sad with this shield but when you see these shirts IRL you realize that it looks quite good with the shield on it.

Where did I say I was worried, or worked up Just ashamed of it
Don't quite get this "you must have a great life because you can get worked up about this" coming from the same people that get in months long debates (which can sometimes lead to slaps on the wrists from a moderator as they get so heated) about a manager's decision to play a certain way in a match or a specific issue with a player.

Apparently that is different (and much more important) than being unhappy with the official, widely displayed face of the club that will linger over many seasons.

I don't belittle those individuals' passion regarding those more transient matters because I understand why they would be concerned and want to express their thoughts.

It seems to me there is an attempt to brand supporters as either "grateful and supportive" if they like the badge or not "team players" if they dislike it. And there is even an attempt to categories further the supporters that don't like it into "snobs" or "simpletons".

I should probably stop spending my time on the train between holiday stops on here as the more I see this pejorative strategy I do actually get worked up—veiled bully tactics don't belong on this great forum.
