Club Badge (merged)

Seriously?
Wasn't really meant for you mate, aside from the not understanding why being "worked up" about this is any different from the heated debates I've seen you in over other things.

I apologise if I gave you that impression.

...you either completely missed the point of my post, are choosing to ignore it so you can continue to feel empowered in your behaviour, or genuinely don't understand the irony of your posts.

Oh well, continue on if it gives you a modicom of pleasure in your life to dominate an internet forum.
I'm not ignoring anything. You're choosing myopia to suit your 'point' that people are being bullied for saying they don't like the badge.

Enjoy your train.

Don't quite get this "you must have a great life because you can get worked up about this" coming from the same people that get in months long debates (which can sometimes lead to slaps on the wrists from a moderator as they get so heated) about a manager's decision to play a certain way in a match or a specific issue with a player.

Apparently that is different (and much more important) than being unhappy with the official, widely displayed face of the club that will linger over many seasons.

I don't belittle those individuals' passion regarding those more transient matters because I understand why they would be concerned and want to express their thoughts.

It seems to me there is an attempt to brand supporters as either "grateful and supportive" if they like the badge or not "team players" if they dislike it. And there is even an attempt to categories further the supporters that don't like it into "snobs" or "simpletons".

I should probably stop spending my time on the train between holiday stops on here as the more I see this pejorative strategy I do actually get worked up—veiled bully tactics don't belong on this great forum.

I must admit it does seem to me there is a bit of mob mentality on this forum at times(could just be long time regs who back their "cyber" mates up), not sure I'd call it bullying though, it just depends how bothered you are going against the grain and some of the posturing that comes with it. No need to get too worked up by it anyway... besides they will just use it against you if you do.

No I didnt think it was referring to me, so no probs there. Just found the bit I quoted OTT. Hasnt been a particularly bad natured discussion IMO, and both sides of the debate have had their moments. Incitement a few pages back, and now this. I'm not sure this persecution thing really stacks up with the facts.

And to be fair one of the things you complained about others doing, you have just done exactly the same to SWP'sBack

This is strange when you have posters saying the majority on here dislike the badge. If that's the case (I've not counted every post of the last hundred or so pages), then how can you call "going against the grain" to be vocal in your displeasure in the design?

Veiled bully tactics? Oh do fuck off. There have been plenty of posts saying that it only appeals to children and simpletons and that anyone with an iota of design knowledge hates it.

Are you just blinded to seeing those posts as they sink your argument of perceived bullying?

You don't like the badge? Great. Moan all you wish, it will do the sum total of fuck all, but if it makes you feel better then who are we to stop you.
???
I don't like it

My point was mainly about the hypocrisy in the responses to badge criticisms so I am not sure how my position is myopic. I have taken into account other post as I've followed the debate like you have.

I'll leave it alone as this is a much bigger forum issue than just whether you like the badge and it isn't getting solved on Christmas (as much as that would be a nice gift for everyone).

I genuinely hope you have a great day mate—PM me if you want to discuss off thread.
