Club Badge (merged)

I believe that your first sentence is developing into the consensus. The #2 blue version is certainly growing on me. Not sure we need nor can accommodate the '1894' but it would be of historical value if the bees were found a place.

At the end of all this I hope there will be two or three choices to vote for.

Totally agree with this.

Lots of people have an idea in their head about what they want included in the badge, but when they actually see it on screen in a design, their opinion changes.

That's why a vote on a final design is essential.

I voted for a bee to be included, but when I've seen it in a design, it just doesn't work. I'd be more than happy to sacrifice the bee in order to have a design that works.

Many have voted for roses, crosses, dates, rivers, ships whatever. All sound like good ideas and are easy to vote for in a questionnaire, but when people see them all lumped together in a final design, they're not so keen.

As others have said, there's a huge consensus for the roundel, inner shield, ship, 3 river sheild, and Manchester City Football Club around the circle. I'm confident this would win any vote among season ticket holders / "Cityzens" for this core design.

But then it's a choice of colour. Some like red / maroon and gold shield, others prefer sky blue and white. Again, to make an informed decision people need to see mocked up versions on the shirt and on different colour backgrounds.

City have got a really unique opportunity here to let the fans decide on the clubs badge for the next 50 years. I hope they allow us to choose a final design we like, as opposed to just choosing a load of symbols we like and ending up with a final design that we don't.

That's a very well written point of view. Well done. I agree.

I think these aspects have to be a given

You have a few rose enthusiasts but it doesn't relate to Manchester anymore so has to be discarded IMO

I don't think anyone who has been a City fan for more than a decade will argue the toss about the above

Like you say..the crux is the colours

I like that too. The gold really stands out. :-)[/QUOTE]

I think this is pretty close to where we'll end up.The club WON'T drop the eagle. They will look to blend the present with our history.

I would like to see maybe a maroon border similar to the orange used by NYC, the stripes must be in red and gold, 1894, Manchester City Football Club in same size font in sky blue with a white/navy blue background. Job done.
