Yep, we did well enough in our way but we're a completely different animal nowadays and the badge should reflect that.

Oh and 3 rivers over the red rose.

Lets be honest...nobody gives a flying fuck about the eagle's connection to Manchester...we just don't want it because it looks shite (In it's current form at least) and was invented by some tool at our kit manufacturers at the time

In fact...I'd go as far to say that the only real reason the owners are having this consultation is to improve the brand and bring it in line with the CFG Roundels

This just further cements that we should have the ship and the 3 rivers. It represents the city of Manchester and that is what Manchester City Football Club should represent.

There's a running theme with people who would like the rose instead of the 3 rivers - "I'm a proud Lancastrian" or like the lady on the Blue Tuesday podcast "I grew up in Eccles and I always considered it part of Lancashire, not Greater Manchester".

Well no disrespect to those people, but how very self-centred to think the badge should reflect you and where you come from. It shouldn't, it should represent the club, and where the club comes from. The club has never been from Eccles, and it hasn't been in Lancashire since 1972.

To have the dominant element of the badge represent Lancashire because some of our fans grew up there, is just absurd. The badge should represent the CITY that the club represents, not a county that it was in 40 odd years ago.

The clue is in our name - Manchester CITY, the club is not called Lancashire County.

I suppose if you keep telling people what you want somebody might listen eventually.

Anyhow consultation finishes Saturday. Looking forwards to seeing the designs and casting my vote. Hope its quick now so everyone can agree and move on.

In all seriousness it's never bothered me one way or another what the badge is, how it's designed or what it incorporates.
Round would be nice, anything else after that I'll trust the great minds of Bluemoon to come up with the goods.

Been watching City since 67 so seen all the crests not got any great preference as to what is on the badge I like the current badge apart from the stars, I like the three rivers and get that, I like the rose and get that,

Born and bred in Bolton which to most of us in that neck of the woods never had an affiliation to Greater Manchester, I now live in Tyne and Wear but to most Geordies is Northumberland

The Lion and the Unicorn are the heraldic supporters of the United Kingdom Coat of Arms, most appropriate considering the country we live in.

I just don't see why there's such a fuss over the badge that we've had for almost 20yrs now....the crest IS now CIty, like it or not. Changing the badge again will just provide further ammunition to those who accuse us of selling our soul for oil money, etc. Regardless of whether we choose it ourselves, it'll be widely regarded as being implemented by the owners.
