I am Sooooooooooooooooo glad to finally get rid of that eagle. to me it's like an ugly ex with big tits you once had good moments with but when you finally get someone else you start to wonder what the hell you were earlier thinking
 
Could be a PR stunt in line with the IP office to release a few and build up the interest.

Then on the 26th...BAM!! An actually awesome new badge is revealed.

That's not really true though is it? The lettering style in the middle makes you immediately think New York, probably because of th Yankees. That it's sky and navy blue and has New York City FC around it makes it clear to any halfwit who is still unsure.

To me the nycfc lettering makes me think that is just a cheap copy of inter Milan badge because they had no history or other symbols in the club to base the new badge on... but hey ho each to their own

Definitely. It's what the marketing/communications team is paid to do, so it's not impossible.

Think about it, a leaked badge ahead of a big reveal is a PR nightmare, but a leaked fake badge becomes the dream.

It's given them some time to take in the reaction for this one.

OR our marketing is amateur and didn't know it would get found online... which is more likely ;-)
 
So if we do sign up to the theory that this is all a clever subterfuge by the club (which I highly doubt) then that would mean they still have to register the new badge?!

Surely that needs to be done before they unveil it on Boxing Day although I admit to knowing nothing about the trademark process.
 
It's growing on me. It'll look better if the shield was inside the centre circle and didn't bow out around the sides. Makes it look a bit caryoon-like.
 
Can't see the point in changing the badge.

Oh yes I can, to make more money out of us.

Brings it inline with over priced food, over priced drinks and over priced seats.
