if Kiddo is taking control of the last 2 games AND the US Tour, thats a long wait for the new manager. If the Pellegrini deal was done, why say Kiddo takes control of the US Tour?

I dont think we have anyone lined up now Pellegrini has denied it.

oh god .......

..... are we gonna end up with Benitez???!!!
Does la liga and our US tour finish around the same time?

i assumed the US tour would be part of next seasons pre-season, ie the players go on holiday for 3-5 weeks then the tours start? La Liga ends this month doesnt it?
No we jet off straight after the season finishes. It's nothing to do with Pre-season it's just trying to recoup some of the missed revenue from the CL.

just shocking how this has been handled by the club and the red media

looking forward someone had better be appointed immediately or i fear another window of missed transfer targets

Absolutely.

Some of the shite being written on here is truly unbelievable.

Plenty of rags about too....

Rags or 12 year old girls. Has to be one of the two.

I hope you get the sack tomorrow too. Rich irony. Maybe some of us don't like seeing anyone treated like a piece of shit the way this club has done to Mancini. You think he gives a toss about the size of his severance package ? Fuck off. He's already a multi-millionaire. It's more to do with the way it's been done than the decision to replace him itself.

This is football.

I've conceded it's been handled badly but the way a lot of people are reacting is both embarrassing as fuck and deeply disturbing.

As for hoping I get the sack, if that's all you've got to occupy your mind then please yourself, fill your boots.

Some of the reactions on here are preposterous.

I have good memories of Roberto and what he has delivered, but it's football management: a well paid, yet brutal and unforgiving job. He knew this when he embarked on this career path: he has followed in others' wake before and he will again. That is the nature of the game of football management.

None of us can know the sub-plot to this decision, at least at the moment. I'm not saying that this is the case, but if his relationships have broken down beyond the point of critical mass, then there's no turning back from that. That's the way of the world.

Our owners deserve our absolute trust to make the right decisions. Does anyone seriously think Mancini would have come to City if Taskin was still in charge or worse, we were in administration? On that basis anyone egregiously criticising them is being foolish.

Thanks Roberto, you've given me the best footballing memories of my life, but you got to manage my football club for three and a half years and were well rewarded for doing it, which is why my reserves of sympathy are not limitless at your dismissal, or even the nature of it. There plenty of people on this board struggling to find work who are far more deserving of my sympathies.

He'll get over this and move forward, as will City. City is what really matters, individuals are just extras passing through. People shouldn't lose sight of that.

Spot on.

Mancini came to us under the same cicumstances in which he leaves us. He knew the score and he knows the score.

He'll be neither ashamed nor embarrassed by this. As fans, we shouldn't either.
Exactly

i hope Ric has put 50p in the meter tonight ... the server is going to be a tad busy i think

Feel sorry for Mancini he won us our first trophy for 35 years and first league win for 44 years and a second plce finish ,and gets the sack on the anniversary of our most exciting game ever.I know this season we have not reached the hights of football played last year and we were knocked out of a hard group in the CL ,i thought he may have had another season with us,i dont think the bloody press helped him either. sorry to see him go and would like to thank him for what he has done for City and i wish him well.
I will support the new manager whoever he may be and hope that he brings in what Mancini couldn't some C/L wins and hopefully some more silverware.

I know and acknowledge that the Club is greater than any one person but I am gutted.

Roberto Mancini stood up at a Supporters meeting and promised he would tear down that banner at the quiet neighbours' place and he did, he even said he would drive the bus to tear it down. He gave us the Premiership, he gave us the FA Cup and the Charity Shield. Thank you.

Thank you Roberto for some of the best times supporting City. You gave us everything (ok not the CL but....) I will never, ever, forget your reaction when Aquero scored that goal, the way you jumped into Brian Kidd's arms, the way you ran down the touchline, everything.

To think that it happened a year ago today. A year today at this time I was having an alcoholic drink.......... not something I do often but I was celebrating our glory.

I am just so upset to read that you have gone and I will be there at Reading tomorrow singing "Mancini, Mancini, he came from Italy to manage Man City" in defiance of the people who saw fit to humiliate you in this way.

Good luck wherever you go next. May they treat you in a more dignified manner than some people at Manchester City did. God speed.

Jesus, get a grip of yourself.

I have just as much right to feel gutted as you had to cry when Tueart left!! You get a grip of yourself. My opinion is just as valid as yours.

I am gutted that the club that I have supported for so many years has treated someone in this manner, if they are talking performance targets maybe they should also look at the performance of players and the PR people?

We couldn't leave him in charge until Sunday and then sacked him, that would have be even worse.

The change was always going to be made this summer.
