Club Statement: Tevez

Tevez or no Tevez I would be quite staggered if any of the remainder of the squad would use it as an excuse for any poor performances/results and use it for any seeming drop in moral and confidence.

If they do then they have to ask themselves why they are playing in the club in the first place.

Our results especially in the Premier League suggest that we can cope fine without Tevez.

If Tevez wanted to show suitors what he was capable of this season he has gone the wrong way about it so far.

Just got a feeling his next club are fully aware of why and what hes doing-why should they care if they get him at a reduced price?

People can worry about the effect it may have on the club, on the results, on the morale of the players but i don't have one worry about it at all. The fans in general have backed the manager in all this and seemingly and most importantly the owner and the players have backed the manager

Do people really think that the morale of the players could drop because we are going to discipline a player who clearly doesn't want to be at the club, a player who has time and time again disrespected not just the manager but the club and a player who has had very little impact on what has been a brilliant start to the season?

So far we are showing that no longer can Carlos Tevez take the piss, no longer can he go on a strop and most fans be on his side, no longer is he our only method of goals and thankfully before long he will no longer be a Manchester City player. I keep reading from certain people that the best thing to do would be for Mancini and Tevez to put on a front and make up till January as thats in the best interests of the club. Forgive me for one minute for not wanting this, i wanted Tevez to leave in the summer, it was only a matter of time before he disrespected Mancini yet again and it proved to be the case, this time thankfully will be the last time and we can all move on. We now have a better all round player who has the completely right attitude both on and off the pitch and has already had many positive words about our manager, a manager who has done a great job

Blackburn away is not always an easy game, at 0-0 at half time we could easily have let the events of the week before bother us but we didn't, the players shown that they are together, they can go out and win games despite the antics that happened off the pitch and thats most important

In hindsight it would have been better for all this not to happen and for us to just get rid of Tevez in January but unfortunately he brought all this on himself, he only has himself to blame and no looking back now, he has to go and he will go and we can all move forward and look forward to an exciting season without having a player who clearly doesn't want to be here and who clearly doesn't respect the manager in and around the squad

I'm not blaming anyone for this, my point is that it's a damaging situation for the club and it's daft to suggest otherwise. I don't see it as black and White , I see it as the final eruption of a growing , puss filled boil.

I honestly couldn't give a flying fuck what any player does with a scarf. It matters nothing in the scheme of things.

More than anything it's taking the spotlight of a very important week on the pitch.....

I dread to think what will happen if we cave in on this.

Get a clearly uncommitted player, possibly lose a manager, send a message to every player present and future that they are considered bigger than the club.

It's a great opportunity to turn a bad situation in our favour. And the club response since the final whistle at the Allianz has been spot on.

He will train with the youngsters or on his own until January when we shall sell him Moomba albeit at a reduced price than we could have got in the summer.

This is not caving in , this is just the best approach to take under the circumstances.

We won't cancel his contract as some are suggesting but we will fine him the maximum we can under current policy and contractual arrangement.

As for RM I don't think he will ever leave the post over any disagreement he has with a player.

He will leave because it suits him to go to another post as he is a career manager or if he fails to meet the KPI's set by the board he will be replaced.

This time next year we will be devoting a lot less space to Tevez on this forum.

Could it have been different?

Only if Tevez behaved professionally on and off the pitch after May 2011 and dedicated himself to ensuring Mancini had no alternative but to pick him and or Mancini altered his managerial style towards players who are difficult to handle neither of which occurred or will occur in the future.

i acually met gareth barry last weekend, he was back in hastings (his hometown) for the weekend. Naturally i asked him about the tevez thing. his exact words were 'carlos refused to warm up because he had just been doing that'. also said that since the summer they have pretty much hated each other.

nothing new but thought id mention it. oh and by the time he left he was absoluely hammered, he was buying alot of drinks! (for the whole bar)

It's bad for morale alright:

bad when a potentially key player refuses to play and smirks and whispers to the other players about it

bad when he complains about his life as a filthy stinking rich geezer who plays football for a living

bad when he hands in multiple transfer requests

bad that he can't be bothered being properly fit

bad when his performances suggest he can't be properly arsed if he doesn't get his own way

bad that he is the toy of his slimy agent

bad that his agent infects other players with the same shitty greed first ethos

Yes it's all bad for morale and the sooner he's away from those that actually want to play for, and progress with, City then the better for team/ club morale it will be

Train him with the first team? No ta. Let him stew on the fringes as he deserves.

just noticed the suns lead article on tevez this morning was co-wrote by both shaun and neil custis. i found that very odd
