Club World Cup 2025 - Who’s going?

That's exactly what it is. The entitled mob aren't at the party so them and their media sycophants have taken their ball home.

Why shouldn't there be a competition for clubs around the world? We have no reason whatsoever to be loyal to the scumbag organisation that is UEFA. There is life outside Europe.

It beggars belief that, after all these years, some of our fans lament the fact that competitions make money. My criticism of the CWC in the past is that it hasn't been serious enough. That tournament in Saudi Arabia last year was not befitting of a competition that brings the world's successful clubs together. This one goes a lot further and should be a great spectacle. If you're going to do it, do it 'proper'.
I hope the football is more exciting than the draw. It seems the ruling bodies are trying to bore the shit out of everyone before a ball is kicked in anger, in future I will just wait for the draw for any competition to appear on here before suffering the mind numbing bore fest presented yesterday.

Same any draw, the FA Cup one was bad enough, asking every single club manager/owner/player "what does it mean for the club".

This new format is worth £50m for showing up and £100m if you win it.

It's essentially a whole year of Champions League revenue for a few games against minnows and a couple of competitive fixtures. I can see why clubs jumped at it.

Im watching the draw again on TV as was on my laptop and did not give me a proper take on it all.
If the footballs as mental as the draw its going to be ace.
Someones just told me the Black guy doing the draw was Cubillas, what a player he was.

If we are out of the CL we will be grateful for the money.

I'm not sure which bit of the article you think isn't fact based?
I’m talking the BBC in general. I’ve no need to read the particular article as I understand how the competition works and I also know that the BBC use AI to generate some of their articles and don’t fact check the results.

If you mean the BBC article headlined: "Club World Cup explained" it is not so much the facts but the distorted, opinionated and negative angle on the story. For example it cites Rodri's complaints about "too many matches" as criticism of the tournament. But his comments related to all of football including the extended CL and the international calendar. I am sure Rodri wants to lift the World Cup for City.
It also includes this absurd segment below where the BBC demands that FIFA must justify why the Club World Cup should overlap with the women's Euros. The BBC staff can't help themselves.

The Club World Cup will partially overlap with Women's Euro 2025, which runs from 2-27 July.

BBC Sport asked Fifa to justify this scheduling clash and whether there were concerns about the Women's Euro competing with the Club World Cup for attention.

Spot-on. Our enemies in the English media are already putting a negative spin on the Club World Cup as another way of slagging us off, instead of supporting the two English teams (City and Chelsea) who qualified by winning the CL. The media never seem to complain about England's pub league matches.

Hope fans travel, sure South Americans will, fan interactions will be great.
If my health holds up (a big if at present) I am hoping to get over there. This event is only once every four years and will eventually become as important as the CL. A billion pound broadcast deal has guaranteed that. It will generate a huge global TV audience and be taken seriously by the likes of Real Madrid,, Bayern, and River Plate.

Juventus V City is pretty big for a group match.
