Cheers.
So the fresher, generally the finer the grind setting?
We have a filter coffee maker at work and tbf the coffee is a lot nicer than the crap in a jar.100%,my comment was very tongue in cheek......but to try and compare the dirty water served from a jar to grinding a bean and shoving it through a quality espresso machine is night and day.
I love the entire process, there is nothing better than a proper coffee at times.
YesI was always partial to Mellow Birds and I ain't taking the piss. Do they still sell it?
It only becomes pretentious when someone starts telling you you should be eating or drinking a product for some non important reasonYou've got to admit, there's a whole load of pretentious shite surrounding coffee, like wine, cheese, olive oil, artisan ales etc etc. I do like my Italian anchovies whole and in rock salt though.....Maybe I'm just a peasant.
We usually buy this model below... Bean to cup, simple to use, no pods or cartridges. It steams the milk and makes a lovely creamy coffee.
We spend approx £25 pw on coffee, £100 pm, over a £1000 py. So makes sense to buy the machine. Trouble is it breaks down after 2 or 3 years, it gets used a lot by the whole family. We're used to it, it just does the job.
Has anyone got a good recommendation for a machine, £150-£300 range, bean to cup, steamer/frother. No frills no flashing lights, timers, etc we just want the coffee thanks.
Or if not then just what you've got and why it is good.
