Cole Palmer

really like the look of this lad , do people who watch him closely think he's got a real chance of breaking in to the first team ?
How does he compare to foden and sancho when they played in the youth team , does he stand out as much as them ?

There's a higher standard across the board than when Foden, Sancho & Dias were playing together but yes, he still stands out alongside the likes of Delap, McAtee, Lavia and others.

He’s definitely got a chance of making it here, hopefully he might get some minutes off the bench once we wrap up the title.

It’s hard to compare him to Sancho and Foden as neither of them really played much for the U23’s. But if you look at their stats for their final season with the U18s -

Palmer - 14 games, 15 goals, 5 assists
Foden - 23 games, 11 goals, 8 assists
Sancho - 15 games, 13 goals, 4 assists

Pretty similar really, although Foden and Sancho were both a year younger at the time and Palmer was arguably in a stronger team.

fair enough , heard good things about mcatee and delap also , like the look of taylor harwood bellis , hoping he can make it at the club .
Tommy Doyle also ,although i think it will be difficult for him to break through .

brilliant , numbers are quite similar although i agree is hard to compare .
I feel like there was a lot of hype around foden and sancho from a young age ,where as players like plamer ,mcatee etc are going under the radar a little bit .
I hope they can make it at the club.High hopes for Delap also .

I'm hoping you're wrong about Tommy Doyle, he seems to have the strength and stamina to make a very good CM and has a wicked right foot delivery for crosses. Also seems to have a footballing brain and has captained all of the teams throughout his age range as far as I'm aware. He's future club captain material as far as I'm concerned.

The truth is that as much as we like youth to come through, we are a team that competes on all fronts and sadly it's very hard for any to breakthrough

I have hope for Palmer, but if I'm being brutally honest....I'd be very surprised if he makes the grade with us, but he will be a fantastic player imo even if its not necessarily with us...same goes for Doyle imo

But they are young so give them some time, but Foden still has only 15 prem starts this season (yes he's heavily featured in Champs league) and he is a player whos been marked for greatness since we've first seen him...if its hard for someone like Foden then it's almost impossible for everyone else

I’m hoping I’m wrong too , would love him to break through .
I know the club rate him , it’s going to be tough for him though .
Time will tell .

Palmer has wonderful potential,he is a joy to watch most of the time, but i have noticed he can be a tad inconsistent/flaky.

I'm still not sure whether he's gonna be another Foden or another Brandon Barker.

One of the things that Foden has done is illuminate a path into this squad. He has been bloodied here and there, even while the media was telling him he needed to go out on loan to further his career. How wrong they were!

Here’s hoping there’s a place on the bench for an EDS player or two in the near future, so they can show what they’ve got, and learn firsthand exactly what’s needed to make the next step.
