Cole Palmer

It's a stylistic thing. Palmer is more like Havertz. They are languid by nature. It's not an effort or lack thereof thing. They are just built different.

Foden is an energy guy. That's said, I personally have never been enamored by the languid types. Just not my cup of tea.
Come on, you were a huge fan of McManaman

I think we should sell, but Burnley have enquired about a loan.

I dont think their funds are huge, which makes spending a large chunk on Trafford a bit strange.
I think Vinny has a vision for going forward and Trafford is the cornerstone. If true then Trafford must be bouncing to have so much faith in him by a player he may have idolised when at City. Living the dream :)

Yeah, agreed, the signing makes sense from the playing aspect. It was purely the financial angle.....its an incredibly large chunk of a very small budget when,to my mind, other areas seemed more of a priority.

I disagree. When Palmer burst onto the scene making late substitute appearances, he was electric & got everyone up off their seats. He twisted, turned & tormented opposition defenders & looked uber dangerous, hence why we had such high hopes for him.

Last season he was presented with the opportunity to step up & impress, but our performances were worse for his presence, & much of the time he looked overawed & lost, not just languid.

This is why the club are considering his future. Impressing for 15 - 20 minutes against lowly opposition when the match is already won is one thing. But standing up & being counted in the weekly PL grind & at CL level was a bridge too far for Palmer imo.

A season's loan in the PL will tell us all we need to know about the kid. Hopefully, a year away will do for him what it's seemingly done for McAtee. )(

Why would we sell one of our best young players? We should be doing everything we can to keep him. I’d only consider a loan move.

He has all the potential to be a top player. It’s great we are getting money for academy players, but it would be great to see some of them make it into the first team.

Too many posters on here just want ready made world class players.

Yeah, languid is fine if languid comes off, but if it doesn't then it looks more like complacency than style.
