Cole Palmer

I imagine the goals against Arsenal and Sevilla must’ve bumped up his value a fair bit.
Without a shadow of a doubt. I think he started both games because the club knew the world was watching and it was a chance for him to impress any suitors. Couldn’t have worked out any better for us if we were going to let him go anyway.

Good luck to him. I can’t see him starting every week for them either. I always thought he was talented but not quite at the level required and Pep watched him every day in training so perhaps just couldn’t see him making the jump. £45m is a lot of dough for someone with so little Prem experience. Chelsea have made some strange signings this summer.

Not sure I agree. I doubt Chelsea would have pushed through such a deal last minute if they weren't going to play him. He'll definitely feature more at Chelsea.
Genuine q, what about chelseas transfer strategy this summer suggests they have a cohesive plan

Bit disheartening to lose a talented youth player. But it’s great money and I assume it means we rate Bobb and Mcatee highly enough to let him go.

Good luck to him. I've always liked the lad and just felt the only thing holding him back was a lack of confidence from a lack of game time.

That said, City is a business, and sentiment doesn't balance books! If the figure we could receive is anything like the price being muted, then this is astonishing business. When our academy was created, I realised we would almost never produce a 1st team player. From the onset, I knew it was about producing saleable assets and this last 2 year's trading is testament to that.

Will this result in younger players not wanting the City youth career path? Not a chance, because even if they don't make it at City, they are gold dust to other teams! Seriously, I cannot remember so many players being sold, with so little 1st team experience, for so much money anywhere in the world. This business acumen alone means we are not only now self sustaining, but on an untouchable rocket speed trajectory. Frankly the rest of the league has been left scratching its head with their pants around their ankles. Long live the American ownership model I say!
