Cole Palmer

Tbh, it's absolutely a respectful and professional exit statement but I'm not sure it's really that warm. I don't think we're in "thanks for all the fish" territory, but it does strike me as a fairly standard pr from someone who has already moved on and is doing the necessary to act appropriately. I was going to say a shame it didn't work out here but in fairness to the lad he's doing ok for himself! Wish him the best of luck in his career.

Good luck Cole I think you're going to need it in the Toddland chaos. Read somewhere that of the players signed this last year most are under 22. Sounds like they're forming another academy - collect as many young players as they can, select the best and discard the rest.

Fantastic business for City and for Cole. Whether it is for Chelsea is still to be determined.

Leave the sentiment out of it. If it was a sale of a business or property with unproven potential, nobody would be bringing up second thoughts and start questioning if it was going to be the next big thing.

A perfect exit for City. I wish the lad well but if I was in the executives shoes, I wouldn't have taken the risk of turning that money down or giving Cole a fat contract when he hasn't earned it yet.

Resident Chav fan @Vialli98 reckons they’re not paying huge wages, (relatively) as an example Mudryk who cost £88m is on 100k per week, can see Palmer getting less than that, certainly not more.

Yep that is what Ornstein, Law etc reported at the time - 97k but heavily incentivised so if he had played well the last 6 months, he could well have jumped up to 150k, but sadly he hasn’t. I’d reckon Palmer is on a contract like that.

I for one don’t understand this transfer !!
Another great prospect leaves city to join a supposed rival!!
He’s getting past the age of being a great prospect - he should be difficult to leave out of our team by now but he’s not. Good player but we’ve got more decisive players coming through

Yep. The only over 22 player we’ve signed in the last 2 windows is Disasi. We signed 4 of them last summer but 2 of them are already gone, one is being shopped around and then there is Sterling. Every other player signed is 22 or younger. Bit crazy but yeah.

Oh dear. Nonsense. Our academy produces great players but we’re a SUPERB team & they won’t all make it with us. As for your last point, remind me why Phillips - who we bought (ie NOT from our academy) isn’t playing every week???

Or why Rico Lewis of the academy managed to displace arguablyl the full back of the year of the previous season, to the point he got punted out on loan to stop him moaning.
