Cole Palmer

That's absolutely true. As a fan, all I can do is hope at least 70-80% of all the players signed come good. But even that feels like a bit like a pipe dream just because they are just so many new players.
In fairness, it's not as if there is another way to do it that would work. If you are not in the Champions League, you pretty much can't buy the very best attacking players ( Mbappe, Bellingham, Haaland, Kane, Yamal, and the left winger at Real. So you have 2 choices, but a bunch of slightly below top tier players and some top tier players just past their prime, and hope you can ride that to the CL... Or buy the best young players around and build for 3 years.

Funny enough, you guys have done both. Started with A ( looked like it wasn't working) now you are on to option B ( young and super talented knocking on stardom's door.) And hope it pans out.

My only fear is that I don't think Poxh is the right guy. He strikes me as a very god manager that's just below elite and has stopped rising.

De Zerbi or dude at United are better coaching prospects.

The bottom line is if you don’t want to work your socks off for the boss and earn your place, there’s someone else who will, but good luck anyway.
Exactly. Talent alone doesn’t cut it with Pep. Rico Lewis who is younger got more games and that tells the story.

Footballing aspirations would have been seen going to Burnley or Brighton for example then coming back at some point but that door is firmly shut at Chelsea with no buy out clause. Chelsea contracts are lifetime contract from the looks of things and I can see why he opted to go to them. Shame it ended that way.

Yep. Money can only get you so far now. You have to be organised, patient and smart in the way you invest and develop your players.
The best teams usually have a mix of experience and young talent. The experience players help unlock and guide the young talent.

think Chelsea could have spent a lot wiser, especially in the midfield.

We will see how it unfolds.

Sancho mk.2?
Hope not. Never seemed a big time Charlie. Can understand he wanted game time
Do you honestly believe think he will get that at Chelsea??
If he’d moved to the likes of say Sheffield utd or Burnley I would agree but at Chelsea he will just be a bit part player unless he does something phenomenal in his first few outings. Big risk that.

Mountain out of a molehill that FourFourTwo article. Just confirms Palmer wanted a better chance of more minutes which he'll probably get at Chelsea - nothing about 'demands'.

Purely sensationalist journalism.

Pep is set in his ways, we all know that, and Palmer wasn't going to be starting games weekly in this team.
