Cole Palmer

He has four assists and he had his two goals for us, so 6 goals and 4 assists in 878 minutes. Doku has 4 goals and 6 assists from 835 minutes.
To say it’s his debut season and he doesn’t take penalties that’s a great return from Doku.

Both players are having excellent seasons. I'm disappointed that we couldn't convince Palmer to remain, but I can fully understand his decision to leave and wish him well.
All I will say on Palmer is, before he converted that penalty last Sunday I didn’t hear anyone on BM or anyone in the media say he was having an excellent season, hence that’s why I replied about Belgium international and City debutant Doku.

Every time I have seen Doku play he has left me at the edge of my seat, not so much Palmer to be honest.

Why would the best team in the world promise x amount of game time to a kid thats barely started? Even our biggest names should be earning their game time, not promised a single minute.

He could have stayed and tried to forced his way into the team. If you're exceptional you will, as Foden did as a youngster. Rico is on the path to that.

Palmer didn't obviously fancy his chances and moved on, no problem with that. I think it was a good move for him.

But I just hope the club never use your method of promosing any raw kid game time.

I’m not saying he or any young player should be promised or guaranteed to play every week. But we could have said you will be taking the minutes Mahrez had. I don’t really see what’s wrong with that?

Of course he would have to prove he’s good enough. We did similar with foden, we said to him and his agent we aren’t sending you on loan and you will be getting minutes whether that’s in the cup or the league.

I don’t think it’s that controversial to say to a top young player you will get more minutes if you stay and others leave…

I think that before he left, most on here were impressed by how he was playing, so it's no great surprise that he's continued to do well in SW6. Our resident Chelsea supporter was also extolling his virtues even when his side were faltering. They're both doing very well, so far, and I harbour Palmer no ill will.

Doku certainly has the raw power and pace to excite. I thought Palmer would be an extremely useful piece in our squad because he already knew the system and because he would be able to slow the game down if and when required.
