Cole Palmer

If Palmer is good enough for Chelsea or Pochettino doesn't mean he's good enough for City or Pep.

Palmer wanted to leave to play. His life. His career. His choice and there's nothing we can do about it.

You can't keep all your academy players happy. It's just impossible. You'll lose some.

Too some extent I agree with you but don`t lets compare Barco youngsters to City ones. As much as we`ve had some wonderful youngsters through our Academy IMO Barca are well ahead of us in this area. That`s NOT to say we`ve had no-one but come on lest keep a reality check on this.
Agreed were no where near Barca level BUT the reality is if we are solely a selling academy then we never will be. I do think academy lads should be looked after in a different way...i think a player like Cole will end up being a very good prem player abd in a few years would have been at the level of a regular first team player.. we will spend 4 / 5 as much in the long run on players from around the globe who may or may not be as good. Academy development from the age of 8 should put you in a much better place to secure first team football...level of coaching. Culture etc. Cole wont be a world beater but i would have preferred him in our first squad

I want to know what Palmer's done at Chelsea that he didn't do at City to warrant an England call up.

All I see is that he's scored a few pens.

Nothing but our standards are way higher plus we have better players in front of him!

It's all to do with having a dig at Man City and pep! "Oh look they'll let a baller of a player go and he is ripping it up"

The England call up is totally nonsense! It's like Southgate gets on the hype of the media!

Saying all that I didn't want him to go, you can see there is a top player in him but when you listen to pep, the lad just told him wanting to go and nothing pep would of said would of made him stay! When you get offered a 7 year deal quadruple your money you can see why he insisted to pep he wanted to leave!

I'll judge him at Chelsea end of next season!

we should have just told him your staying for one more year and we will give you the game time we promised, if not after that you can leave.

Why would the best team in the world promise x amount of game time to a kid thats barely started? Even our biggest names should be earning their game time, not promised a single minute.

He could have stayed and tried to forced his way into the team. If you're exceptional you will, as Foden did as a youngster. Rico is on the path to that.

Palmer didn't obviously fancy his chances and moved on, no problem with that. I think it was a good move for him.

But I just hope the club never use your method of promosing any raw kid game time.

Agreed on all that.

You know what I see in Palmer, had he have stayed at City? The potential to become a central player. When he gets going he reminds me of Yaya Touré, especially with the ball retention. He's never a winger in the long term.

I wonder if that's what Guardiola saw in him in order to not want him to go?

We know pep saw a player in him he did want him to stay and we know pep would made him into a more all around player giving time. Palmer though saw the money and a promise of first team football and looking at how he has started he has been Chelsea's catalyst one of main mature players! So you can say he made the right choice at this moment, we will see..
