Cole Palmer

What the media have done to him has been unfair tbh. All because he left City and scored against us. I didn't see anything special except the work ethic and some skills. He'll drop out of sight imo like he's dropped out of the spotlight.

Sam Lee on his podcast with Mooney said Palmer had a bad attitude and "liked a drink".

No idea how true that is but I'm not keen on the idea of some journo spreading shit on a podcast about a City academy graduate who's only been out of the door 5 mins and clearly still has a lot of fondness for the club. Hardly a Sancho type situation is it.

Palmer is clearly a good player and I wish him nothing but the very best. Was he quite up to City's level to be starting every week? Probs not, but at somewhere like Chelsea he'll be one of the main men and will almost certainly win some trophies whether it's with them or someone else. Good luck to the lad.

And what the fuck is David Mooney doing recording that podcast with Sam Lee anyway...

That has been mentioned on here several times by other posters. People who know Cole or his friendship group etc mentioned similar things and people dont want to hear it.

He was here doing a job, this "fondness" of City lasted as long as it needed to then he ran to London to earn himself millions. His loyalty clearly had a price.

Mooney has been recording podcasts with Sam Lee for about 5 seasons...

We complain when journalist's make stories up but also when they tell it like it is!!

Palmer was a huge talent but a huge talent that the best manager of his generation was happy to let go.

He was not let go due to lack of talent, so the drink and dubious attitude stories have some merit.

I thought Pep wanted to keep him but Palmer wanted to leave in order to get more playing time.

Yeah how dare the nasty journalist repeat what he’s been told by several different sources within the club. Nasty nasty man.

Other than Bernardo how often has that happened anyways?

Walker, Gundo maybe?
Walker I never felt seriously considered leaving, more contract negotiation, Gundo I think knew he had peaked in our shirt and was ready to move on and not damage his reputation with us by overy staying.

We are not a club that any top or up and coming player would want to leave, we are the pinnacle of football on and off the pitch, does any club in world football look after players and their families as well as we do?

He once wrote an article taking the piss out of any City fan who thought there were sections of the media which were purposely negative about the club. It was at a time where he came across as desperately wanting to work in the media and therefore tried to score brownie points with them. He'd throw his mum under a bus if he thought it would get his foot in the door.
