Cole Palmer

He’s been excellent for Chelsea and he was one of our brightest youth talents. It feels like a lot of posters are downplaying how good he could potentially be. I find it a bit odd that so many posters are being so negative towards him.

It’s early days yet, but he’s been fantastic

Yeah my thoughts exactly, the lad has always been a talent and now he's putting it together at Chelsea. Good luck to him and there's no point people being bitter about it.

I said at the time I felt the club were making a mistake letting him go, because he will end up being worth signficanty more than what Chelsea paid us.

I must say you write a lot of footy sense and i enjoy reading your views but come off it pal, no way was Palmer worth what we got for him nevermind being "worth considerably more than £45million". I can't think of another academy player from any prem club being sold for anywhere near as much, especially a player as young and raw as Cole Palmer was when he left us. Iirc he only started 8 league games and 13 in total in 4 seasons which didn't suggest to me he was worth an initial 42M fee with 3M of future add ons, talk about stealing money, it felt like we'd pulled their pants down and smacked Todd boehly's big fat ostentatious ass 42million times.

Although he's looking good value right now his value can plummet like a lead balloon if his form takes a nose dive and should that happen then Chelsea will think nothing of selling him in another fire sale. Many Chelsea fans cant believe they got him for 'such a steal' but that's easy to say based on current form. I bet there were thousands who saw that price paid as trepidation for one of our kids they'd hardly heard of.
I'll make no argument to suggest what palmer had done at city was worth £45 million. It wasn't, but we knew his potential and that's what chelsea were buying and were paying through the roof for.

Mudryck had done less than palmer in his career to date before chelsea signed him yet chelsea shelled out £90 million for him. 115 on caceido after 6 months of football etc. They were betting big on potential and Palmer was one of the less risky moves and paid much less than they were for others.

I believed his value was much higher, not based purely on what he had done to justify the price but simply a reflection of the market.

We knew how good he was I wanted him to stay a lot of city fans wanted him to stay pep wanted him to stay! Guess what we don't keep players who go to Pep and tell him he wants out!

Palmer went for the money plus he Knew how good he was and would be there main man there where at city he would be 1 of a lot of top players!

by scoring mainly penalties?
Have you watched any Chelsea games?. He’s by far their best player. He’s creating chances, scoring goals and influencing the game.

scoring penalties is a skill in itself, but if you think that’s the only thing he’s done you haven’t watched any of their games.

Sometimes he is being overhyped, but surely you can see he’s been decent.

I have, was more tongue in cheek :-)

Soon see if we regret him going

I was gutted we let him go but understood he wanted games and we did the decent thing for him
Now I’m getting annoyed we didn’t see that with a run of games this lad has got it

One that got away
