Cole Palmer

He wouldn't be playing though (well not very often anyway). He's a good player but not good enough to be a regular starter for us at this time.
Think his minutes and starts wouldn’t be much different than Bobb’s. Those minutes while fine for now for Bobb were no good to Palmer. Think Chelsea as they are now are just about the right level for him.

Who knows if he would have stayed. I think he is good enough to be a regular starter for us, but fair if you disagree.

In his prime I think he’ll be one of the best in the league and lots of people at city thought that when he was coming through

Tbf you do love a young Englishman coming through so you’re a bit biased… :-)

Okay. If we were playing the CL final tomorrow, with a fully fit squad (imagine!) to select from, would he get the nod from Pep?

Its irrelevant what we think. The big man (Pep) didn't think he was ready. What more is there to discuss. Shall we reopen the thread for Sterling as well whilst we are here.

Chelsea are a mid table outfit, how is Palmer going to be "one of the best" in that situation.

Pep didn’t want him to leave, but he doesn’t stand in the way if a player does. I agree it’s pretty irrelevant now, but seeing him play so well and from what I saw in youth games I’d have liked to see him still play for us. That’s a pretty reasonable opinion to have. I wish Sane still played for us as well, is that ok?

if your that bothered by it you could always ignore posts about it.

Right now probably not, but he could come off the bench. He did start in a final for us and come off the bench in other big games as well, so it’s not that crazy a suggestion. If he wasn’t good enough pep wouldn’t have done that.

In a few years he most certainly could have done. I would say he’s at a similar level to Doku - numbers wise palmers been great as well.
