Cole Palmer

Phil has been unwell for a few weeks, that is a concern, but class is permanent, health and fitness can be overcome, especially with first class medical backup. Palmer made it clear he didn’t want to stay, and at the time he hadn’t shown his class, so a shame all round, but personally I don’t think he had the guts to break into the City side. he went for the easy option, a star in a small pond

How many more times, palmer did not have the patience to wait for his time here , phil had to wait and has been handled very well, he was unhappy ,he left , the end
Issue is I don’t believe Pep rated Cole as highly as Phil

The club must be regretting this now. We’ve lost a 80-100 million local lad, who could have been the future of the club. We now have an ageing, injury prone de bruyne and Doku and Savinho who aren’t anywhere near as good on the wing.

I keep hearing he wouldn’t have got the same freedom or chances at city. Surely that’s on pep, to see that potential and trust him to play more. Why couldn’t the club see this obvious talent? He didn’t have to start every game either.

It feels like we’ve gone for short term profit and forgotten about the long term. It’s similar with selling Alvarez.
Although Alvarez to me was 100% effort and less guile and talent..great squad player, as is Rico... Palmer well.... said before we even were thinking of selling him that we need to nurture his talent - some of the touches in the world club thingy..and his cameos..let alone his amazing EDS career and youth international career at EVRY age group - often the captain!
