Cole Palmer

It's called having eyes, I've watched more than enough of both thankyou very much. Funny that you try and even make it into an argument. Palmer is a good player but barring injuries doku will be ahead of him this year and get much more game time.
I’d say watching 5 mins of a Rennes game is more than enough.

Any City player costing £55m is likely to get more game time than Cole Palmer. That's how football works.

I'm not arguing with you at all. All you've done is expressed your opinion on supposed "ceilings" that you can't possibly back up.

You obviously rate our shiny new toy, and I hope your optimism is justified, but don't try to make yourself out as being some sort of expert just because you've 'watched' both players.

"Higher ceiling"... What a load of bollocks.
It's not hard to back it up, just watch them both play.

You appear to very frustrated I hope you are OK.

It's nothing about shiny new toys, it's about realising when a player is better than another, very simple.

Yeh pep will play doku more than palmer because he cost more, do you even know who our manager is? 'What A load of bollocks'

LW: Grealish/Foden

Centre 2: Foden/Silva/Kovacic/Palmer

RW: Palmer/Doku/Silva

6 players for 4 positions while KDB is out. I can't see Palmer leaving unless a quality central attacking player is on the cards. Plus I don't think he should leave anyway He's just starting to break in to the team

Pep decided to buy new toy KP than trust Lavia to be fill his place on the bench.

I find myself agreeing with both sides of the argument.

From our major rivals, I'm looking at Rashford, TAA, and Saka, whilst Birmingham and West Ham have produced Bellingham and Rice respectively.
However, I'd still argue that Foden has equal potential, and has definitely achieved more.

On the other hand, this was supposedly our best crop of youngsters, and yet one by one, they're slowly being discarded, (often by the same Bluemoon posters who've been lauding their talents for the last few years)

Realistically our bar is now so high that Richards and SWP would probably have never made it.
TAA exceptional? Exceptionally crap and statue-like defender yes

One price of success is that we have fallen firmly into the category of 'buying success'.
We're becoming the very things that opposition fans have accused us of being since the takeover.

It's a shame. Having watched dozens of young players break through at City for 50 years or so, the last 15 years have seen next to none.

We were so far behind as a club we had to buy our way there, not sure that's the case now.

If your a top quality young player you will get a chance but yes, you will have to be very, very good and patient.

That comes with the territory of chasing titles every year and wanting to become one of the worlds great clubs.

You're absolutely right mate, but as an FOC, and believer in traditional football values, I feel that the pursuit of World's Best status has taken the club away from its roots. It's not Manchester City FC anymore, it's the City Football Group. The club has been rebuilt on different (albeit significantly stronger) foundations.

It's modern day football that I've probably fallen out of love with. It's sterile and elitist, followed by a new generation of reflected glory and celebrity obsessed fans. It's a million miles away from the local club and game I felt in love with.

I know I'm probably in a minority on here, but it's just one of the reasons that I, and more than a few other FOCs, have given up season cards and stopped going to City matches despite the success. It's just not the same game anymore.

I am probably of a similar vintage and I can understand your views, top football has changed, much of it for the better but some not so, the money side is getting totally out of hand and I can no longer relate to players these days.

I remember as a college student knicking out of classes and going down to platt lane, chatting through the fence to the first team players, the likes of Alex Williams, Clive Wilson, Dave Bennett etc, just top local down to earth lads who wore the shirt I dreamed of doing and did so with pride.

Demonstrating outside the ground trying to get Swales out, dark days, but days that made you feel a real part of this wonderful club of ours.

In saying that I have to say some of these young kids have big balls and incredible confidence in their own ability, Sancho, Bellingham, Abrahams and Lavia have all left their parent clubs and took a big risk, in Bellingham's he was hit the jackpot and respect to him for doing so, what a start to his career, incredible achievement, playing a major part for his country and Real Madrid at 20.
