Can someone tell me what a FOC is?You're absolutely right mate, but as an FOC, and believer in traditional football values, I feel that the pursuit of World's Best status has taken the club away from its roots. It's not Manchester City FC anymore, it's the City Football Group. The club has been rebuilt on different (albeit significantly stronger) foundations.
It's modern day football that I've probably fallen out of love with. It's sterile and elitist, followed by a new generation of reflected glory and celebrity obsessed fans. It's a million miles away from the local club and game I felt in love with.
I know I'm probably in a minority on here, but it's just one of the reasons that I, and more than a few other FOCs, have given up season cards and stopped going to City matches despite the success. It's just not the same game anymore.
Pep outPep decided to buy new toy KP than trust Lavia to be fill his place on the bench.
Fukin old **** ; )Can someone tell me what a FOC is?

Once you reach fifty you'll know :(Can someone tell me what a FOC is?
I am probably of a similar vintage and I can understand your views, top football has changed, much of it for the better but some not so, the money side is getting totally out of hand and I can no longer relate to players these days.
I remember as a college student knicking out of classes and going down to platt lane, chatting through the fence to the first team players, the likes of Alex Williams, Clive Wilson, Dave Bennett etc, just top local down to earth lads who wore the shirt I dreamed of doing and did so with pride.
Demonstrating outside the ground trying to get Swales out, dark days, but days that made you feel a real part of this wonderful club of ours.
In saying that I have to say some of these young kids have big balls and incredible confidence in their own ability, Sancho, Bellingham, Abrahams have all left their parent clubs and took a big risk, in Bellingham's he was hit the jackpot and respect to him for doing so, what a start to his career, incredible achievement.
100%I get these viewpoints, I remember going to see Bell, Lee, Summerbee and Malcolm Allison etcetera training at Wythenshawe park as a kid.
While I was proud sticking with City during the dark years and it's nostalgic to look back, nothing beats the last few years. The quality of the football and the joy of winning trophies has been fantastic. With that comes the new fans and hatred from other clubs but that's just the modern way.
On new fans, we were all one once. Growing up in Manchester I could easily have chosen either City or United. What swayed it for me was reading an interview with Malcolm Allison and how he wanted to make us the top team in Manchester and Europe. United were the glamour team back then and I loved the underdog story and Allison's charisma and vision. City it was for me from then. It's not dissimilar to people worldwide watching us on TV and social media. The club do some really good ones. While us FOC's might consider them a bit naff they recruit new fans.
It’s not the same game for sure. I sat in absolute awe watching our team dismantle Newcastle on Saturday afternoon. In 101 there were more tourists than season card holders but not once did I think ‘this is sterile and elitist’ . I thought bloody hell this is football from the gods. After 50 odd years of supporting this club with more downs than ups I will drink in every single success now that we have reached the pinnacle of world football. Enjoy it mate. It’s beautiful. And it’s still the same club. You're absolutely right mate, but as an FOC, and believer in traditional football values, I feel that the pursuit of World's Best status has taken the club away from its roots.
