Cole Palmer

Once again topping all the underlying numbers by a wide margin today as a creative passer and most likely receiver of the ball to score... Insane that we sold him a week after he won MOTM in the Super Cup. At least, Pep's net spend will look better for his legacy, because that's what it was all about IMO.

He's been topping these for Chelsea all season.

He wanted to leave once we made it clear we would be bringing in another winger to replace Mahrez. If all we cared about was net spend then surely we would've just kept him and not signed a more expensive player in Doku? Before you say we could've had both, we were not going to keep an unhappy squad player.

Well, in hindsight that was dumb.

I think Palmer is further along as a player than Doku is. Certainly in the final third and while Doku has been more good than bad, his inability to stay fit has proven to still be a huge issue.

Don't really think it can be argued that it wasn't a mistake at this stage.
I was one of those that really wanted Cole to stay, his performances for Chelsea should come as no surprise to any City fan that have seen him play. But my main problem is that if he now wanted to leave and we sold him for that reason, why on earth didn't we replace him? If we sell a winger capable of delivering 10 goal involvements in 14 PL games (like he has in Chelsea this season), he should be replaced by a player of similar (or better) quality. Not just promote a youth player. Especially not when we already had let several elite level players leave and the squad already looked significantly weaker in both quality and depth. Selling a €50m winger and not even replacing him under these circumstances is almost self-sabotage.

You think we don't miss a local lad capable of breaking defence you're in denail. I'll go even further to say those who know, know he's been a rag since day 1.hes a product of our youth system. Everyone wanking over doku what good is he injury. Oh he's only scored penalty's. You think that's easy against Premier league keepers? Not knocking the club knocking these know it as how you gonna support a lad from Belgium over one of us.... You 5h8nk he can't beat a man you're mad he's told to turn back n keep ball
