I was lucky enough to attend his last match for City. I think he came on for the second half. I was only 7/8 so don't remember much.
I wasn't allowed to matches in those days due to the violence. But my dad knew this one might be special and took me and my brother.

So very sad. Colin Bell has died. Our King. A lovely, lovely modest great man. It was my privilege to meet him and shake his hand. Love and sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Amazing how much his successor, David Silva, had such a similar modest personality. It’s that personality that always feels ‘Manchester City’ to me.
