Colin Bell RIP - Ian Cheeseman interview with Jon Bell (P142)

For those who never saw him play, he was KdB on steroids, his passing was sublime,he was supremely skilled, he was brilliant in the air, he could tackle, he could finish, he could run all day and he was a humble man, who loved our club.

In our pantheon of greats some may come close, but none will ever surpass the King of the Kippax.

His comeback game still sends shivers down my spine, i have never heard a ground as loud in my life as the Kippax was that day.

RIP The King, you were my hero, I loved you more than any City player i have ever seen or likely to see, he was everything I wanted to be as a kid, i even worse my shirt like him, insisted i had the 8 shirt at school.

I am heartbroken, your hero's are not meant to die.
Rascal your hero is still living in lots of Blue hearts and memories.

Sad News, will have possibly seen him play at Maine Road but was too young to remember .

I heard a couple of different versions of the above song?

“Greatest Centre Forward that...”
“Greatest Aceist Forward that...”
?
RIP Colin The KING.
No mate it was always the greatest inside Forward that the world has ever seen

What a shit start to the year..

Unfortunately before my time but my Dad always mentioned him to me from a young age.

Broke the news to him just now. His reply was "Aw no. He was my idol. The first football player I ever looked up to".

When someone like Colin runs through the fabric of the club, they never die.

Many players have played for us, even as someone who never saw him play I know how important he was as a player and will be forever as a name

Don't know if already mentioned but the Mirror saying City will play with number 8 on their back in retro kit tomorrow night.
Colin Bell dead: Manchester City legend passes away aged 74 - Mirror Online

I never wear any of my City shirts when watching a game on telly (would feel like a bit of a dick at my age). Tomorrow night however I'll be making an exception and wearing my No. 8. Let's all do it Fellow Blues - we can't be there in person but we can be there in spirit.

Don't think we'd have a dry eye in the house if we had our first "fans reunion" home game at the Etihad as a Colin Bell memorial/David Silva testimonial game.

Too young to have watched him, but know how fond my dad and his generation were of him. RIP Colin.
