Really suprised at the comments about Colin Murray, he's a genuine sports fanatic who realy knows his stuff. I'm a big fan of Fighting Talk and when he stands in for other 5 Live presenters he does a great job managing subjects from politics to film reviews. I've not seen much MOTD2 thus yet but my guess is he's still finding his feet with it. A lot of his football presentation is based around humour where he has people like Perry Groves, Pat Nevin and Lovejoy who he knows well and can bounce off. Give the guy a chance.

I have to agree. There are so many other football enthusiasts / presenters out there for my money. Honestly, I do prefer Murray to that gargoyle head Chiles, but there is room for improvement.

I never used to mind Colin Murray until he was the compare (if you can call it that) at Leeds festival this year...did anyone go as a matter of interest???

Even then he thought he was Mr music, Mr football, Mr riding on the BBC gravy train. Naa, not for me Colin. Whoever came up with James Richardson was on the money there. Its a pitty good old Jeff Stelling can't get a contract with another TV company to do MOTD2...I don;t suppose the MOTD2 job is very appealing to him when compated witht the sheer brilliance that is Soccer Saturday!!

I prefer him to Chiles any day of the week. The thing that does annoy me is the way he keeps on calling Lawrenson 'Lawro', its really unprofessional and quite embarassing, like he's pretending to be best mates with him!

I quite like Colin J Murray, he's not too afraid to take the mick of himself and is a massive improvement on that hunk of charisma that is Adrian Chiles. He handled Liverpool's defeat at the hand of their percieved biggest rivals yesterday with great dignity, something that is often severely lacking on the murdoch machine.

Chiles was a tit, but it was still decent.
John motsons commentating was a little off tonight, he sounded like he was half asleep, apart from him always being a shit commentator anyway, tonight he was shocking, the blackpool fans were singing and he's like 'well would you look at that, extroadinary' they were singing john, that's what fans do, cause their a poor team doesn't mean the fans won't sing, he was just kissing blackpools arse for the whole game.

I thought this too. Motson sounded bored.

I hated this Guy with a vengence, however for some reason that I cant fathom he has grown on me and my opinion has now changed. Although not a fan and the calls for James Richardson are excellent. Maybe it's the enthusiasm he brings to the show.
